Making Phone Calls to China Clarify the Truth (Photos)

July 12, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) For the past six years, Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner Huang I-chen has been calling Mainland China to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.

One morning she found a little time between her exercise and work time and decided to call some policemen in Mainland China. The person who answered the call sounded like a young man. Ms. Huang asked him not to participate in the persecution of Falun Gong, but he said he was only following orders. Ms. Huang was sad for this young man for being used by the CCP to persecute good people. She heard a baby's cry from the other end. Tears filled her eyes as she told the policeman, "You have a little baby. Even though your wrongdoing was because the CCP forced you to do it, you still committed a crime and this will put your family in danger of suffering your karmic retribution." The policeman hung up. Ms. Huang called again but nobody answered. She sincerely hoped the policeman would awaken and choose a bright future.

One day, Ms. Huang read from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website about the persecution of Ms. Zhou Xiangyang, an engineer in Tianjin. Ms. Zhou was sentenced to nine years in prison and was brutally tortured. Her life was in danger. Many cruel persecution cases like this can be found on the Clearwisdom website every day. Ms. Huang was anxious to help rescue Ms. Zhou and decided she would make phone calls in the evening.

She called a deputy director of the police office involved in Ms. Zhou's case, but she couldn't find him. She called his home. His mother answered the call. Ms. Huang told the mother it was terrible for her son to be involved in the persecution. The phone was hung up. Ms. Huang called several times. The director's mother answered and said, "We have to make a living. Don't you have to make a living?" Huang was very sad to hear that they had to do things against their conscience in order to make a living. A few days later, Huang called the director's mother again and told her to tell her son Falun Gong people are good people. Falun Gong is beneficial to the society. Her son could use his wisdom to protect these people. He would have a bright future. The director's mother said she understood Ms. Huang was thinking for the benefit of her son and that she would tell her son.

Ms. Huang often has a half-hour or one-hour-long conversation with the people she reaches in China, and the phone bill is a pretty big expense. One time, she talked to a man who held illusions about the CCP. Because the first seven minutes of international calls has a lower rate, she had to hang up after seven minutes and call again to lower the phone bill. When she explained this to the man, he asked, "Isn't your phone bill paid for?" She said she paid out of her own pocket for all these calls because she knew how great Falun Gong was and hoped others would know it too. He was very touched. He eventually understood what she said and quit the CCP. Ms. Huang was very happy. She said no matter how hard she worked, it was worth it as long as people could learn the truth.

Ms. Chang Wan-hsuan is a housewife in her forties. She has been practicing Falun Gong for almost ten years. The first time she saw the Falun symbol in the Zhuan Falun, she recognized she had seen it in a dream before.

Like Ms. Huang, Ms. Chang also calls Mainland China frequently to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. One time, the person she called asked for a minute to park his car by the road so that he could hear her better. After a conversation with Ms. Chang, he quit the CCP. Ms. Chang asked him to tell the news to his family and friends.

Based on her experience, Ms. Chang said if she hadn't studied the Fa well, she wouldn't have the compassion and her words wouldn't touch people's hearts. If she said things to protect her own view, the person she called wouldn't accept it. She learned to stand in others' shoes.
