(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, several organizations in Wuwei County have worked together to carry out severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. These agencies include the Wuwei County Police Department in Chaohu City, Anhui Province, the County Domestic Security Team, the Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office. Eleven practitioners were put into labor camps, two were sentenced to prison, and more than 30 practitioners were arrested and put into brainwashing centers. Approximately 12 practitioners have left home in order to avoid further persecution.
Former Chaohu City Communist Party Committee Head Zhou Guangquan and former Wuwei County Communist Party Committee Head Gao Dejin actively followed Jiang's Zemin's lawless group and brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, especially in Wuwei County. Gao Dejin once stated at a conference, "Show no mercy when persecuting Falun Gong! We must arrest so-and-so and bring them back to prison!" Gao Dejin was later promoted to head of the Huainan City Political Consultant Committee.
Former Wuwei Police Department Deputy Political Heads Zhang Jibin and Zhou Fengbiao, Domestic Security Team Leader He Zhongming, former Quantang Police Station Chief Qian Jun, Wu Xiaoshu, police officers Huang Zhaoxue, Luo Yehong (female), and Wang Mingxin were especially vicious in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. During the period around July 20, 1999, He Zhongming, Qian Jun, and Luo Yehong went to Beijing to arrest practitioners who went there to appeal for justice. Many practitioners were put into labor camps without any legal procedures.
From 2002 to 2004, former County Political and Law Committee Deputy Head Xiaobing and many others committed crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong. They were led by Quantang Township Party Committee Director Zhang Changgui, Political and Law Committee Director Zhou Xiaotang, and civil cadre Xuan Yuanhua. These people arrived in police vehicles several times, dispatched police officers and surrounded villages. The largest such raid involved more than one hundred officers. Some of the smaller raids involved more than seventy people. They broke windows and destroyed the doors of Falun Gong practitioner's homes, violently arrested practitioners, and sent them to brainwashing centers. These centers were located in the County Food and Supply Bureau and the Dongmen Senior Citizens' Center. All the windows and doors in the brainwashing center were barred with metal rods and the practitioners were monitored day and night.
Police officer Zhou Fengbiao publicly declared, "No attorney dares to defend you. It is totally useless to go to court!" During the brainwashing sessions, one practitioner was sent to a labor camp and another practitioner was thrown from a police vehicle and seriously injured. He became incontinent as a result his injuries. Another practitioner, employed at the Wuwei Secondary School, suffered a nervous breakdown.
In 2004, agents from the 610 Office arrested two practitioners. The arrest happened as the practitioners disseminated truth-clarification materials in Nicha Township. One of them was injured in the arrest, sustaining severe injuries from the waist on down, and was bedridden for two months.
In the evening of November 27, 2007, police officer Peng Xiantao from the Chenbei Police Station violently arrested practitioners when he was drunk. Practitioner Ms. Sha Fenglian fell from the fifth floor during the arrest.
Prior to the 2008 Olympics, officials from the Wuwei County Police Department officials and the 610 Office arrested three practitioners. One was sent to a labor camp; one was sentenced; and one is still under house arrest, being monitored at home; the Communist Party stated that they would sentence him in public. This Dafa practitioner's family had been extorted for more than 10,000 yuan.
Recorded above are only several accounts of persecution of Dafa practitioners at the hands of the Wuwei County Police Station and the 610 Office.
