Dec. 1, 2010 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent in Hunan Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Eight Falun Gong practitioners from Changde City in Hunan Province were illegally sentenced from three to ten years in prison on November 4, 2010.

Wang Yongkang, director of the 610 Office in Changde City, recently dispatched several hundred officers to arrest more than 30 practitioners and ransack their homes. The officers took away the practitioners' Dafa books, as well as equipment and supplies used for producing truth clarification materials. Practitioners Wang Xiaohui, Li Haijun, Man Sanqing, Ms. Liu Xiuying, Liu Huiping, Li Fangyun, Chen Lingci, Zeng Lihua, Liu Xianju, and others were sent to detention centers in Changde City to be persecuted. Among them was Ms. Liu Xiuying, who is 74 years old.

The practitioners were illegally tried by the court of Wuling District in Changde City on June 11, 2010. When the practitioners tried to defend themselves in court, presiding judge Deng Liping became irrational and smacked the table. She spoke rudely, prevented the practitioners from defending themselves, and confiscated their defense documents. The trial was just for show, with the outcome predetermined by the authorities.

The court illegally sentenced the practitioners on November 4, 2010 as follows: Ms. Liu Xianju, 10 years in prison; Ms. Li Fangyun, 9.5 years; Mr. Wang Xiaohui, 9 years; Mr. Li Haijun, 8.5 years; Ms. Liu Huiping, 7.5 years; Ms. Zeng Huali, 7 years; Mr. Man Sanqing, 5 years; and Ms. Chen Lingci, 3 years.
