1. Learning the Fa
In 1998, I had a medical check-up, which showed that my heart blood supply index had changed and that I had a vocal nodule. As I was only in my 40s, I didn't think it could yet become very serious, but I wanted to find a form of exercise to make my body and mind healthier. Two days later, on a Sunday morning, I walked to a local park. I had the strangest feeling that I was looking for something that I had lost a long time ago. Suddenly, I heard some music that sounded like it had come from heaven.
I followed the music and saw many people sitting in meditation. The energy field made me feel peaceful and kindhearted. I asked one of the senior women what kind of practice this was. She gave me a warm introduction and told me it was Falun Gong. I read the introduction on the banner and thought that I should practice Falun Gong. I was busy at work and did not have too much spare time. Falun Gong suited my lifestyle, so I began to learn the Fa with the goal of healing my body.
What surprised everyone I knew was that within just a month of learning Falun Gong, I had completely changed. All of my illnesses disappeared. I no longer had a hoarse voice and my vocal sound was pleasant. More surprisingly, the butterfly spots on my face disappeared and my skin turned smooth. Most importantly, I improved my moral standard, which made my coworkers and other people around me think positively about Falun Gong. I was the happiest person in the world, feeling joyful every day. I felt fortunate to have found the Fa, which is an opportunity that only occurs once in millions of years.
At the school where I worked, when the leader assigned more work to me, I no longer argued about it. I worked more steadily. Every day I came early and left late. The dean was very happy to see the changes in me. He told me sincerely: "You have completely changed inside and out. I really see the beauty and greatness of Falun Gong." I handled my responsibilities well and also helped other teachers. The senior teachers did not know how to use a computer, so I handled all the computer-related things for them. I also gave every teacher in my office a copy of Zhuan Falun. Some colleagues subsequently went to the practice site with me to study the Fa and practice the exercises, and we began to genuinely cultivate in Dafa.
2. Helping Predestined People to Obtain the Fa
In 1999, just a few months after I started practicing Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin's communist regime started to brutally persecute and defame Falun Gong. I knew that Falun Gong is good and that if others did not understand it, practitioners had the responsibility to clarify the facts to them, so that they would not be deceived by the lies. Since I was very busy at work, I did not go to Beijing to validate the Fa with other practitioners, and I have regretted this ever since. I often shouted on the playground of the school, "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Restore my Teacher's reputation!" I felt very happy and comfortable after I shouted these words, feeling very strong energy all around me.
Over time, I lost my connection with many other practitioners. However, I still persisted in studying the Fa and practicing the exercises. I also clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the people around me, telling them about the greatness of Dafa and the truth about the persecution. I always thought it would be great if I could meet up with more practitioners again.
As soon as that thought emerged, Teacher led a senior practitioner to me. She was the grandmother of one of my students, and I learned that she was a practitioner after I had clarified the truth to her. She sent me Teacher's new lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference," on July 22, 2002. After that, I studied the Fa more diligently and hoped to assimilate to Dafa. When I learned of the Minghui website, I read the published experience sharings and downloaded all of Teacher's new lectures and articles. After reading all of the new articles in two days, I understood that as a Falun Gong practitioner, I needed to do the three things well, including studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and saving sentient beings.
During this period, my colleague's wife and my cousin also began practicing Falun Gong after I had clarified the truth to them.
Teacher said,
"This is especially true for those students who stepped forward late, or who've stumbled, or who haven't kept up -- you should study the Fa a lot, listen to criticism more, and hurry to catch up." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference," July 22, 2002)
I felt Teacher's words applied specifically to me, because as an experienced practitioner, I had the responsibility to lead new practitioners well. We formed a Fa-study group and studied the Fa three times a week for three hours at a time. I understood that we must follow Teacher's requirements, constantly remember our responsibilities as Dafa disciples and study the Fa well. Only when we study the Fa well, can we effectively clarify the truth and save sentient beings. We were strict with ourselves and never talked about ordinary matters during our Fa-study. We first read Zhuan Falun and then studied Teacher's new articles. Sometimes we also shared our cultivation experiences to help each other improve. We all cultivated very diligently at that time. After a while, my cousin could not persist in studying the Fa every day because of some interference. I then went to her home to study the Fa together with her, and we continued to have our Fa-study group as usual. At my cousin's place, I saw another new practitioner listening to Teacher's lecture while doing other things. I told her that it is best to sit and listen to Teacher's Fa respectfully. Soon this new practitioner learned to send forth righteous thoughts and hand out the truth-clarifying materials on the street.
I bought a computer with a color ink-jet printer and started a material production site at home. I was able to download materials from the Minghui website, and I learned how to make booklets that were neat and beautiful. I also taught another practitioner and her daughter how to explore the Minghui website and help others to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) online. The practitioner's husband and daughter and some other relatives also obtained the Fa, and many of her relatives withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. When the new practitioners improved themselves, they also wanted to save sentient beings. This way, we have been able to help Teacher save many more sentient beings.
3. Clarifying the Truth to Save Sentient Beings
Our home material site functioned well. I printed Minghui Weekly, Zhuan Falun, Teacher's new articles, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Disintegrate the Party Culture, and all kinds of truth-clarifying brochures. I also made copies of the truth-clarifying DVDs and the Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. The two new practitioners went out to distribute the materials and sometimes were able clarify the truth to people face-to-face in the process. We also produced additional materials and sent them to others to distribute.
Because I was anxious to save as many people as possible, I began to ignore studying the Fa. My selfishness and fear then came out. I thought that I did not need to go out to clarify the truth, as it was good enough to just pass the materials on to others. This way, I thought there was no danger to me. I knew that it was a selfish thought. The very next night, in March 2008, a fellow practitioner who was passing out the truth-clarifying materials that I had made was illegally arrested by the police. Soon I was also arrested and the material site was destroyed. It was a great loss for the Fa-validation projects.
When I was detained at the detention center, I realized that evil took advantage of my attachments of selfishness and fear. Dafa disciples are one whole body. Other practitioners' things are my things. How could I have such selfish thoughts? I told myself that no matter where I go, I must do the three things well, keep elevating my xinxing, refuse to be "transformed" and refuse to betray fellow practitioners. I kept reciting the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and asking Teacher to strengthen me and help me to walk out of the evil's den. I thought: "This is not a place where I should stay. I need to go out, validate the Fa and save sentient beings. The time is very precious and I cannot delay fulfilling my prehistoric vows." After 38 days, and with Teacher's strengthening, I was released.
Teacher said,
"When disciples have ample righteous thoughts
Master has the power to turn back the tide."

After I walked out of the detention center, I went to my relatives' home with my cousin to clarify the truth during the summer break. On the road, we cooperated with each other. I sent forth righteous thoughts and she clarified the truth to people on the train. Many people on the train withdrew from the CCP after we had clarified the truth to them.
When we arrived at my relatives' home, we clarified the truth to them. They all acknowledged the righteousness of Dafa. We also gave them copies of Zhuan Falun. Over 10 people in the family withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, including a chief procurator of a city and a middle school principal. Three relatives started to practice Falun Gong after they read Zhuan Falun.
Every day, no matter where we went, we clarified the truth to the people that we met. We used every moment to save sentient beings. I also clarified the truth when I went out together with my husband, who was not a practitioner. He was worried about me and told me, "Could you please not talk about this when we go out?" I said: "I cannot stop. I need to save people. I must listen to Teacher. Haven't you seen the many disasters happening and all the people who have died? Saving sentient beings is the most righteous thing in the whole universe. You don't need to worry. Teacher protects me all the time. The righteous gods will also help me. As long as I walk the righteous path and save sentient beings, I will be fine." He then understood and did not try to stop me anymore. Recently he also started to study the Fa and practice the exercises, and now he has become a Falun Gong practitioner.
Many of my students' parents, my acquaintances, and other predestined people have been saved. As long as I want to save sentient beings, Teacher makes the perfect arrangements for me.
Teacher said,
"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")
We must cherish this precious opportunity, which occurs only once in millions of years. We must cherish this precious time, rectify ourselves, move forward diligently and fulfill our predestined vows.
