I have been working for my current employer for two years. When I first joined the company, I was a regular staff member and now I'm the general manager. Some local practitioners have suggested that I should consider quitting this demanding job. The fact of the matter is that I want to walk my own path of rectifying the Fa and saving sentient beings via my work environment. I still have attachments and I still have many areas that need improvement, yet I'm no longer the person I was before.
I don't have an engineering degree, but my years of experience have made me choose mechanical engineering as my career. After resigning from my previous job and searching for several years, I decided to work for a private company. Through work, I have found opportunities to interact with many sentient beings who have a predestined relationship with Dafa.
More than anything else, I look at whether the sentient beings that I meet can be saved. Maybe this is Master's arrangement to allow me to cultivate amidst my work environment, helping Master rectify the Fa this way, so that I can save more sentient beings. It doesn't seem to be any different from what everyday people are doing, yet my intent and the outcome are fundamentally different. I clearly know that sometimes troubles and conflicts encountered are indications for me to help. When I explain the facts about Falun Dafa and save a person who was supposed to be saved, all troubles and conflicts are easily resolved.
There was one time we ran into a lot of problems when we serviced some power equipment. One piece of equipment malfunctioned and threatened to negatively impact my company's reputation if not fixed. I enlightened to two possible reasons: one being that Master had created an opportunity for me, and the other being the old forces had wanted to prevent me from saving sentient beings. If I didn't handle this issue well, it would significantly reduce the credibility of Dafa disciples, which could prevent me from saving sentient beings.
I told my supervisor my ideas about handling the issue. My boss knew the truth about Falun Gong and had quit the CCP. He also knew the rules of conduct that I abide by, which are Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He agreed and I was assigned to handle the issue. When I went to the site, I told everyone that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner. In a world where moral standards are declining, I continued to use Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as my guiding principles. Even before we found the cause of the problem, I told them that my company was willing to take full responsibility, including the cost of fixing the malfunctioning equipment. After I made my statement, there was a long silence. Through their gazes, I saw the admiration from sentient beings of Dafa disciples.
Another thing that happened when I first started this job was there was a colleague who knew I was a Falun Gong practitioner. She told me that when I first started, she thought, "Why hire someone who practices Falun Gong?" She was contradicting me in every matter. Yet, when she came to know the truth about Falun Gong, she quit the CCP and often reminded me of sending forth righteous thoughts on our business trips. While I did so, she also recited in her heart, "Falun Dafa is good!" It was amazing that just within a year how much a person can change. Only Dafa has such mighty power!
Whenever I meet a customer or a partner at work, I first let them see how differently a Dafa disciple treats people and the way we handle things. After we get to know each other, I then tell them about the facts of Falun Gong and the persecution. Some would quit the CCP right away. For those who didn't, I sent them truth-clarification materials, waiting for later opportunities. Through these several years, many sentient beings I have interacted with were saved in this way. They also experienced the grace of Dafa.
Through the years, via doing the three things well as Master required, I was able to clarify the truth to many people.
On the surface, every Dafa disciple looks just like an ordinary person, yet his or her deeds show the magnificence of Dafa. I recall what Master said: "...we are cultivators, people whose bodies are in the secular world but whose minds are beyond it." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference"). Indeed, we are divine beings among humans. This echoes from the bottom of my heart.
