(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Youlian (pen name), and I'm 73 years old. I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. I was sick with all kinds of diseases, but Master transformed me into a healthy and happy practitioner. I was illiterate, but Dafa opened my wisdom and I can read almost all of the Dafa books except for a few characters. I thank Master from the bottom of my heart. Although Dafa has been persecuted, I have never doubted Master and Dafa. I have been steadily walking on my path of cultivation through to today.

I was arrested and taken to a brainwashing facility, police station, and detention center. Each time I walked out in a dignified manner under Master's protection. In 2001, I suffered the most serious torture. I was sent to a brainwashing facility and many people tried to "transform" me. In the beginning, I didn't know what to do. After reciting the Fa and sharing experiences with fellow practitioners, I realized that this was the evil's way of using deceived people to persecute Dafa practitioners. Master said,

"Clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination," ("Dafa is Indestructible" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)

After remembering Master's words, I knew what to do. The secretary of the residential committee told me, "You have to write a guarantee statement, otherwise, you can't return home." I told him seriously, "I'm practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person and there is nothing wrong with that. It is you who are wrong, and you should not persecute us. It is you who should write a statement to guarantee the persecution be stopped." He had nothing more to say after that.

The secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee preached to me the Communist Party's atheism. I recited Master's article "What is wisdom?"

"People think that the renowned persons, scholars, and different sorts of experts in human society are great. In fact, they are all really insignificant, for they are everyday people. Their knowledge is only that tiny bit understood by the modern science of human society. In the vast universe, from the most macroscopic to the most microscopic, human society is exactly in the very middle, in the outermost layer, and on the outermost surface. Also, its living beings are the lowest form of existence, so their understanding of matter and mind is very limited, superficial, and pitiful. Even if someone were to grasp all of mankind's knowledge, he would still remain an everyday person." ("What is Wisdom?" from Essentials for Further Advancement)

He was shocked and immediately left without saying a word.

Whenever I saw the personnel from the brainwashing center, I told them how beautiful Dafa is and how Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party persecutes us. Finally, under Master's protection, I returned home without writing anything.

In 2007, I was put into a detention center for distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and other truth-clarifying materials. Every day, I recited the Fa, sent forth righteous thoughts and told the facts about Falun Gong to others and persuaded them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. People in the same cell warned me not to say anything because I was being monitored. Then I sent forth righteous thoughts to make the monitor not work, and it malfunctioned.

During the Beijing Olympic Games, the residential committee sent people to live with me. I clarified the truth to them, and played the Shen Yun performance video for them. They enjoyed watching the video and even laughed. Sometimes they sang along with the video and afterward they quit the CCP.

When I read that Master asked us to save people, I insisted on going out to clarify the truth face to face. Once, when I was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to a man, he stopped me immediately and showed me his work ID. I told him, "No matter how high level of an officer you are, you are a life, you need to save your own life. Simply by withdrawing from the CCP and its associated organizations, remembering Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, you can save your life without spending a penny. The problem will be solved if you agree with me." He smiled and nodded.

One day, I went to a town to distribute information materials. When I was talking, two tall men forcibly took me to the police station. The policeman handcuffed me and asked me why I came to that town to distribute materials. I calmly told them the truth with a smile and said, "In the near future, a huge disaster will be upon us and many people will lose their lives. What we are doing is saving lives. We care about you and your posterity."

The policemen had no words, and they called two other policemen. The policemen slapped me as soon as they stepped into the room. I cried out, "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!" They said angrily, "Don't you know who we are and what we do?" I smiled, "I don't care who you are. The only thing I am doing is saving people. If you want to save your life, agree to withdraw from the CCP and remember, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, Falun Dafa is good." He released me at around 3:00 p.m. the same day.

Some joked when I was explaining the facts about Falun Gong, "Does Falun Gong give you a salary?" I replied, "We are saving people, we don't want money. We are only giving and never ask for anything." Some people who understood what I said gave me money or things to thank me, like letting me take the taxi for free, but I always declined.

Master asks us to cultivate better and save more people. I have to work harder and be more diligent to fulfill my prehistoric oath.
