Fifteen Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested and Harassed in Tangshan Area

(Clearwisdom.net) Fifteen Falun Gong practitioners were reportedly abducted by authorities in Tangshan City on November 24, 2010. Eight were illegally detained in the Tangshan City Detention Center by midnight. Others were taken to the Tangshan City First Detention Center.

Zhang Xiufen, Chen Yuqun and Chen Jianjun from Shengshuiyuan Village, Zunhua City were taken into custody by a gang of unidentified policemen at around 5 a.m.

Policemen from the Tangshan City Domestic Security Bureau, the Lubei Division of Tangshan Police Department and the Chaoyangdao Public Station barged into Falun Gong practitioner Li Qiang's home at 6 a.m. They seized a computer, CDs and other personal belongings with no warrant. They opened the closet, threw all the clothing onto the floor and seized another computer from a non-practitioner family member. Li returned home at around 5 p.m.

65-year old Ms. Li Lihua from Caochang Street, was arrested at 8 a.m. by policemen from the Tangshan City Public Department, the Lubei Division and Qiaotun Police Station. Her husband was leaving for work at 8 a.m. when he opened the door to find a gang of policemen jumping out from their hiding places and barging into his home. They were hiding on the staircase between the third and fourth floors. There were eight of them in total. They videotaped the entire process while barging in. Wang Bin (who has repeatedly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners) from the Qiaotun Police Station shouted that someone had reported Li to the authorities and they need to ransack the place. They tried to take her away, but she resisted. Four of them started dragging her. Someone called for another four policemen (a total of 12) and they carried her to the police car. She shouted in the corridor, "The CCP is arresting good people!" Li was transferred to the Tangshan City First Detention Center at around 5 p.m.

Similarly, at around 8 a.m., Practitioner Zhang Xiurong was about to leave her home when six plain-clothes policemen from Lubei Division and Diaoyutai Police Station jumped out of their hiding place and barged into her home. They ransacked the place, and seized three Dafa books and other personal belongings. Before leaving, the police shouted, "We'll be back!"

Practitioner Ye Hongxia was arrested by policemen from the Nanbao Developing District Police Department while working at the Jidong Prison Hospital that afternoon. She is currently imprisoned at the Changningdao Detention Center .

Practitioner Zhang Zhizhou and his wife Wang Jinlan live in the Deyuanli District. Policemen barged into their home that same morning. Zhang was taken to the Changningdao Detention Center. He was returned home at 10:30 p.m. the same night because he failed the health test.

Practitioner Xie Guoxiang from Liujiaying Village, Fengjian District, Tangshan City was also arrested that morning and taken to the Liujiaying Detention Center.

The Domestic Security Bureau of Yutian County Public Department arrested practitioner Li Hanxin from Xiaozhaogezhuang Village, Chaoluowo Township, Yutian County at around 11 a.m. They broke into and ransacked his home confiscating two computers and printers.

The same day, practitioners Xu Cuihua and Xu Xiangzhi from Dafenggu, Yuehe Township, Kaiping District, Tangshan City was arrested and taken to the Yuehe Detention Center. Their homes were also broken into and ransacked. Practitioner Han Xiuying from Shifolin Village, Yangguanlin Town, Fengrun District was arrested by policemen from the Fengrun District Public Department. Her home was also broken into and ransacked. Practitioner Li Shaohui was arrested by policemen from the Linyinlu Public Station while clarifying the truth. Zhang Xiufen's family (in Zunhua City) was arrested and her home broken into and ransacked. Jiang Gucai from Luannan County and Li Hanxin from Yutian County were arrested and their homes broken into and ransacked. Zhang Yibiao from Leting County was arrested.
