Reflections on Reading the Article "Keep in Mind the Salvation of Sentient Beings"

Feb. 20, 2010

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading the article posted on the Clearwisdom website on Feb. 19, 2010, entitled "Keep in Mind the Salvation of Sentient Beings"(http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2010/2/19/114786.html), I noted that similar situations existed in my area, and some fellow practitioners had also discussed this topic with me. A few years ago, I left a forced labor camp with strong righteous thoughts in place, and I went through similar encounters. Of course, different areas have different situations. I just want to put my experience into writing, in hopes that it will be helpful to my fellow practitioners.

In the summer of 2006, the extended labor term imposed on me by the forced labor camp was about to end. According to procedure, the forced labor camp should arrange for the detainee to fill in the application form for dismissal from the labor camp. At that time, many practitioners with righteous thoughts and firm cultivation stood up to negate the illegal extension of forced labor terms for Dafa practitioners and refused to fill out any forms. Because of this, the labor camp police had to ask the family members of Dafa practitioners to sign on behalf of the practitioners before their release. Also, the police required that the family members of the practitioner and the officer from the local 610 Office should both be present before a detainee could be released. As a result, many practitioners thought they had no choice but to go along with the process. In other words, these practitioners believed that if we did not sign, the police would have to ask our family members to sign on our behalf. They thought since the family members were not practitioners, it wouldn't be wrong for them to sign. Therefore, these practitioners blindly accepted the process the forced labor camp stipulated, and some even provided family members' phone numbers to the labor camp authorities, without clearly understanding the relationship between their actions and negating the persecution.

I think the idea of allowing family members to sign the "release" documents was wrong, because it did not completely negate the persecution. Also, as an ancient saying goes: If you do not want something, do not give it to somebody else. Since it is something you do not even want to do, how could you ask other people to do it? Since Dafa disciples cultivate to become enlightened beings who are selfless and considerate of others, how could you ask your family members to do this? So how could the family members be prevented from signing the documents if they were supposed to sign before the detainee could be released? The only way to prevent the family members from signing was to prevent the family members from coming. Why did the family members really need to come? Wasn't that an arrangement of the evil to ask them to come? Understanding this, my mind became more clear: "My family members must not come and I should not provide the phone numbers of my family members to the police, even though they may be able to find it from other sources." I was determined in my mind that it should be the people who sent me to the forced labor camp, not my family members, that should take me back.

As my "release date" approached, my determination became stronger. One day before the "release day," according to custom, the labor camp was supposed to inform my family members to come pick me up. However, the policemen on duty on that day forgot to call and inform my family members. Consequently, on the "release day," the agents from the local 610 Office waited the whole morning and my family members never showed up, so they had to sign on my family members' behalf to pick me up from the labor camp.

Due to the persecution, I lost my job and my immediate family too. So, the police had to contact my relatives in my home town. In the car, I heard their conversations with my relatives over the phone. They requested that my relatives come to the police station in the district where I lived to pick me up. At that time, my righteous thoughts were not quite as strong, so I went passively along with the policemen to the local police station.

The 610 Office agent told a policeman on duty in the local police station that I belonged to this district, but the police there did not really understand why the 610 Office sent me to the local station. The 610 Office agent explained: "He did not want to sign any documents, and he doesn't have any employer or family. If we don't send him here to document his release, it will be hard to locate him once he is released." The local policeman then took me to a room to do the registration and necessary documents.

By then I had realized from their conversation what I should do: I should not cooperate with the evil on any of their requests. So, I turned a deaf ear and remained silent to any so-called routine questioning, request for filling out forms, etc. I understood that their so-called "routine" was also functioning to persecute Dafa disciples, so I could not cooperate with the evil on that either.

In the end, an officer who looked like the director of the police station came out and told me they would simplify all the documentation for my case, and only take two photos of me. For that, I also refused by saying that there was no need for the photos. They maintained that they needed the two photos for documentation, and I said in my heart: "Just because you need them, I refuse to cooperate with you."

After my relatives arrived, the director urged me to hurry along with the documentation process so that I could go home quickly. At that moment, I all of a sudden realized that since I had already not cooperated with them, why should I still sit there? I should just go. I stood up and told my relatives we should leave right away. I walked out of the police station straightforwardly and without compromise.

Two weeks later, I came back to the same police station to renew my residence ID card, because my it was nearly 20 years old and state regulations required me to renew it. In the ID department of the police station, nobody asked me for any "release certificate" from the forced labor camp or other related documents. I got my ID card renewed without any problem.

Thinking back on the process of my ID card renewal, my mind was very simple: I did not even think about the "release certificate" or any other related documents. I only had one clear thought: "I will not cooperate with the evil on any of their requests." I understand that the so-called routine registration or documentation of Dafa practitioners arose from the persecution. If we can put down all attachments to ourselves, completely negate the old forces' arrangements, and do things from the perspective of the Fa, these things that interfere with Dafa disciples in their Fa rectification will not exist.

There was another fellow practitioner in my district. After her release from the forced labor camp, she also refused to do the routine registration for residency. She believed that was another form of persecution, which was arranged by the old forces and should not be recognized by us. At the beginning, local police came to her home several times to harass her and force her to do the registration, but they had no success. Then, the police almost begged her to complete the registration, and she refused again. Nevertheless, not registering did not seem to cause any trouble in her daily life. When you get to the bottom of it, who fears who? If a practitioner is being bothered by these kinds of problems, it is very possible that his or her perspective of seeing things is off.
