The Heishui County Court in Sichuan Province planned to hold an illegal trial of Falun Dafa practitioner Lu Zhiyong on February 1, 2010. Lu Zhiyong was arrested in September 2009 at Xinjin, Chengdu City by police from Heishui County, and has been detained since then.
Lu Zhiyong had been a teacher and a pharmacist. He was later admitted to the Politics and Legal Department in Southwest Minority College and became a forest policeman. His father was Dean of a hospital and his mother is a doctor. Since childhood Mr Lu suffered from poor health. When he began college in 1997, he started to practice Falun Gong. His illnesses soon disappeared, and he truly felt healthy for the first time in his life. He followed the Fa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and was strict with himself. He worked diligently and received the title of "Most Outstanding Policeman".

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Lu Zhiyong has suffered continuously. On June 18, 2001, forest policemen Zhou Bin and Chen Aiguo from Heishui County and policeman Chen from the First Section of the Heishui County Police Department came to Lu Zhiyong's residence at 904 Forest Farm. Zhou Bin said, "The CCP has decided to let you go to study." Lu Zhiyong asked, "Go where? Study what? How long will I be gone?" Zhou Bin said, "In Mianyang City. Your fellow practitioners are there. You will study for a few months." At 4 p.m. that day, Lu Zhiyong was driven to the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City. Once there, he realized the so-called "study" was actually 18 months forced labor.
In 2005 Lu Zhiyong's wife Rao Qiong was sentenced to three years of forced labor, and that same year Lu Zhiyong was also sentenced to another three years' forced labor. While at the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp he suffered brutal torture and food and medical poisoning. The guards put poison in his water and food and injected unknown medical infusions into him.
By February 2008, his life was in great danger, and his body extremely weak. He had been brutally beaten over a long period of time, poisoned, forced to wear the "constraint cloth" and made to sleep on the "death bed". To escape responsibility, the camp released him. After he was released, he stayed at his mother's home. In order to avoid the harassment and monitoring from the Heishui County police, Lu Zhiyong's elderly mother (over 70) protected him, not allowing other people to enter her home until the Sichuan Earthquake in May, 2008.
On September 19, 2009, Lu Zhiyong went to Dujiangyan City to visit his mother. On his way home, police from Heishui County stopped and beat him so badly that he collapsed and did not wake up for two days. He has been detained since that date.
On January 12, 2010, the Heishui County Procuratorate took him to Court using the charge of "damaging the execution of the law" based on Item 300 in Criminal Law, which has been used to persecute many other practitioners. This particular law violates the constitution and has many extreme and fatal errors in it. Numerous attorneys, legal scholars and legal experts agree:

The constitution item 36 and 35 require that a citizen has the freedom of belief and the freedom of speech, therefore Falun Gong practitioners believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and clarify the truth of Falun Gong, exercising their freedom of belief and the freedom of speech which are entrusted by the constitution;

There is no law deciding Falun Gong is a cult;

Falun Gong practitioners believe in "Truthfulness-Forbearance-Compassion" and clarify the truth of Falun Gong, they do not endanger anyone. Instead, it helps to improve people's moral standard and only does good to society. Certainly this is not a crime;

In all Falun Gong practitioners' so-called "cases", no case ever specified how the practitioners "damaged the execution of the law". How could those cases be put on record?
In other words, the case against Lu Zhiyong did not have any legal evidence and clearly violated the constitution. It is the government and CCP officials that have abused their power. The Heishui County Procuratorate has become the guilty party in committing the crime of "Violating the Law to Pursue the Persecution".
During the ten years' persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, Lu Zhiyong's mother has also greatly suffered. After Lu Zhiyong was arrested, she tried appealing everywhere for his release and wishes good people will pay attention to Lu Zhiyong's tribulations and stop this from happening again. At the same time, she hopes the related legal departments in Heishui County will search their conscience, uphold justice of the law, truly maintain justice in society, and withdraw these so-called "cases" which should not exist at all.
