(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shunying Held in Custody
Ms. Li Shunying was arrested at her workplace on April 20, 2010. Officers from the Xinli Street Police Station made the arrest and took her to the city detention center, to be held for 15 days. Ms. Li is on a protest hunger strike.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jingying Arrested
Officers from the Gaojia Street Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Jingying and tried to get her to give information about other practitioners.
3. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Du Huachu Not Released After Term Expired, Sent to a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Du Huachu from Wuhan has been held in the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang for eight years. April 24, 2010 was the end of his detention.
Mr. Du's parents, in their 70s, and his wife rode a bus on the afternoon of April 23, 2010 to arrive at the prison to take him home. They arrived at the prison gate at 5:00 a.m. and waited, but Mr. Du did not come out. Mr. Du's wife received a phone call from community personnel at 7:00 a.m. The person informed her that Mr. Du was in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center; his physical condition was poor. They asked her to bring clothing and shoes for him.
Mr. Du's family then went to Wuhan and arrived at the brainwashing center at 4:00 p.m. They learned that officers from the Wuchang District Police Department, along with officers from the Xujiapeng Police Station and community staff, had gone to the prison at 4:00 p.m. on April 23, 2010 and taken Mr. Du to an undisclosed location. They then transferred him to the Yuangyuan Brainwashing Center at 7:00 a.m. that day.

4. [Wuwei, Gansu Province] Arrest and Extortion of Ms. Guo Yulan
Ms. Guo Yulan from Hongxiang Town in the Liangzhou District was arrested on April 9, 2010. Hongxiang Town Police Station head Huang Xiaoyu, political head Zhang Runnian and others made the arrest, ransacked her home and forced her to pay money to secure her release. Following her release, the police often went to harass her at home.
5. [Dehui, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Zhen Held in Ward 5 of the Gongzhuling Prison - Belated Information -
Mr. Sun Zhen was arrested on July 20, 2002 in Beijing and sentenced to eight years in the Gongzhuling Prison. His family's numerous visits were denied. Mr. Sun is emaciated and extremely weak as a result of the severe abuse and mistreatment. His term will expire soon, but the prison officials refuse to release him.
6. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jiang Yuehong Arrested
Officers from the Tienan Police Station arrested Ms. Jiang Yuehong in the early morning of April 21, 2010. They drove Ms. Jiang to her mother's home on the afternoon of April 22 and took away a computer, a typewriter and a paper-cutting knife. Ms. Jiang was handcuffed. She said that she had been hung up and beaten.
7. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Xiaoqiang and Ms. Liu Jinhua Arrested
Mr. Li Xiaoqiang and Ms. Liu Jinhua from Yunmeng County were arrested on April 21, 2010. Officers from the Domestic Security Division made the arrest and took them to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center.

8. [Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhu Chao and His Wife Ms. Dong Yueling Are Missing
Mr. Zhu Chao and his wife Ms. Dong Yueling suddenly went missing on the morning of April 22, 2010. According to their neighbors, more than a dozen plainclothes police officers knocked on the door to their home. No one opened the door, so the police forced entry into their home. They left about an hour later with a large bag filled with Falun Gong books. They also took away the couple's computer. The two practitioners' whereabouts are unknown. Their daughter will take the national college entrance exam soon and dares not return home.
9. [Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province] Ms. Quan Delan Arrested
Officers from the Xinxing Street Office in the Xiashan District convinced Ms. Quan Delan, 48, to leave her home and arrested her on the morning of April 18, 2010. Ms. Quan has not returned.

Ms. Yao Qiuhong is being held in the Shandong Women's No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. The guards often lock her up in solitary confinement for long periods of time.
12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Xiulan Arrested and Taken to the Shenyang City Detention Center
Ms. Ma Xiulan was arrested along with several other practitioners on April 24, 2010 and taken to the Shenyang City Detention Center.
13. [Baoding, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Shufen Taken to a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Yang Shufen, 68, from Dazhuze Village, was arrested on March 5, 2010 when Jiang Zemin went to Baoding. She was arrested for carrying Falun Gong informational materials. She was taken to a detention center, and her family was forced to pay 10,000 yuan to secure her release. She was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp on April 5.
14. [Hunan Province] Mr. Yang Junsong Subjected to Abuse and Mistreatment in Prison
Mr. Yang Junsong, 58, was sent to the Hongzehu Prison in March 2010 and was subjected to long-term sleep deprivation. He was often only permitted two hours of sleep per day. Four inmates monitor him around the clock in shifts.
15. [Shanghai] Ms. Xing Bing Arrested
A group of officers from the Xinjinqiao Police Station and the Pudong Police Department rushed into Ms. Xing Bing's workplace, the Shanghai Lienpai Company, and arrested her. They took her into custody and confiscated her printer and computer and other belongings.

16. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Jie and Ms. Chen Xi Arrested
Ms. Xu Jie, in her 50s, and Ms. Chen Xi, in her 40s, from the Shenhe District were arrested on April 24, 2010. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Shenhe District Domestic Security Division and the Wenhua Road Police Station. A few police station officers are on stakeout at Ms. Xu's home.
17. [Fangcheng County, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Xiuhua Arrested at Home a Few Days Ago
18. [Chongqing] Ms. Wu Guangbi Arrested at Home
Ms. Wu Guangbi was arrested at home on April 22, 2010. The police confiscated her computer and other personal property.
19. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Yi and Ms. Sun Jingfang Held in Custody
Ms. Zhang Yi and Ms. Sun Jingfang were arrested on April 24, 2010 as they distributed Falun Gong-related VCDs in the Jianghan District. Officers from the Dazhi Street Police Station made the arrest and detained them for 15 days. The two practitioners were then sent to the Erzhigou Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Dongxihu area.

20. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Update Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Wang Guilan and Others
Ms. Wang Guilan was arrested on April 24, 2010 in the Nanta District. Her sister said that eight practitioners were arrested at the same time. Mr. Jiao Jian and Ms. Wang were handcuffed in the Nanta Police Station. All of the arrested practitioners were taken to an undisclosed place in Qipanshan to be interrogated.
Most of them were released at 10:00 a.m. on April 25, 2010, but Mr. Jiao and Ms. Wang were sent to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center.
21. [Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Liu Wei and Mr. Cong Xuelin Held in Custody - Belated Information -
Mr. Liu Wei and Mr. Cong Xuelin were arrested on September 25, 2009. Officers from the Dongda Police Station and from the Domestic Security Division made the arrest and held them in the Hanzhong Detention Center. The two practitioners were then handed a two-year and one-and-a-half-year forced labor term, respectively. They are now in the Hao Town Forced Labor Camp in Baoji.
22. [Chaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Guiqin and Her Husband Arrested
Officers from the Chaoyang City Police Department arrested Ms. Jia Guiqin and her husband and ransacked their home. The couple is now in the Wujiawo Detention Center.
23. [Xingtai, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Guoqiang Taken to a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Wang Guoqiang from Longyao County was arrested at home on April 14, 2010. Officer Cao Mengchen and four others from the Longyao County Domestic Security Division climbed over the courtyard wall and broke into Mr. Wang's home to make the arrest. They confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books and VCDs, and other personal property. Mr. Wang was taken to the Xiangtai Brainwashing Center, following four days of detention in the Longyao Detention Center.
24. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Mr. Ma Qiang Arrested
Officers from the Zhongyuan Police Department and the Qinling Police Station arrested Mr. Ma Qiang in April 2010.
25. [Chaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuqin Arrested
Ms. Li Yuqin from Jianping County was arrested on April 25, 2010 as she spoke with people at a market about Falun Gong and the persecution. Officer Ren Hongli from the Domestic Security Division made the arrest.
26. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xuemei Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xuemei was arrested on the evening of April 23, 2010. The police confiscated many items from her home.
27. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrests of Ms. Guan Yuqin and Ms. Zhang Xiuli
Ms. Guan Yuqin and Ms. Zhang Xiuli from Nangang District were arrested at home at around 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2010. The police confiscated three printers, a computer, 2 cell phones, 4 printer cartridges, 30 Falun Gong books, CDs and paper.
28. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Arrested
Ms. Xu, who lives in a family compound affiliated with the Mengzhuiwan Post Office, was arrested on April 25, 2010.
29. [Fulaerji, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Nie Chunfang Held in the Qiqihar City No. 1 Detention Center
30. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Liping and Three Others Arrested
Ms. Lu Liping, Ms. Wu Lixian, Ms. Xiao Tian and an elderly practitioner surnamed Li were arbitrarily arrested several days ago. The four practitioners are now in the Fushun No.1 Detention Center.
31. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Held in Custody
Ms. Han Xiulan, in her 50s, and Ms. Cai Xiulan, in her 40s, from the Guye District were arrested at around 10:00 a.m. on April 25, 2010 as they spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. Officers from the Shuiyu Police Station in Zhaogezhuang made the arrest. The two practitioners were sent to the Tangshan City Detention Center that afternoon.

32. [Penglai, Shandong Province] Elderly Practitioner Ms. Li Yunhai Arrested Again
Penglai police arrested Ms. Li Yunhai, 70, on April 24, 2010 at her daughter's home in Laiyang.
Officers from the Penglai Police Department arrested Ms. Li's non-practitioner daughter a week ago. The police found Ms. Li's location through telephone tapping and following her. They ransacked her home for the third time and confiscated a computer and some Falun Gong books. Ms. Li's detention location is unknown.
33. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Ya'er and Ms. Feng Jianying Arrested
Several plainclothes police officers broke into the homes of Ms. Zhao Ya'er and Ms. Feng Jianying and arrested them in the early morning of April 25, 2010. They confiscated Falun Gong informational materials. The police then went to Ms. Feng Jianzhen's home in Poshang Village, Xinshi Township, kicked the door open and confiscated Falun Gong-related items.
