(Clearwisdom.net) Qu Jianguo, 16, was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer, but received a new lease on life after starting to practice Falun Gong. Since then, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have attempted several times to force him to sign a guarantee statement to renounce his belief and to declare that Falun Gong had nothing to do with his recovery.

Jianguo is a high school student in Laishui County, Hebei Province. In early June 2009, he felt pain in his leg, which progressively got worse over the next few weeks. After being seen by several doctors, he was eventually diagnosed with bone cancer on August 23, 2009 at the Jishuitan Hospital in Beijing.

His family spent all of their savings and even accepted donations from relatives, neighbors, school teachers, and classmates to pay for his medical expenses, but after spending 150 to 160 thousand yuan on various medical treatments, including chemotherapy, he still did not get better. The hospital ran out of options to treat him, and the family brought him home, resigned to their fate.

Shortly thereafter, Jianguo met Falun Gong practitioners, who told him to recite "Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." Jianguo then started to study the Fa and do the Falun Gong exercises. The pain in his leg gradually disappeared, and he recovered his health. He was grateful from the bottom of his heart, and wrote an article on the Minghui website to tell his story.

After the article "High School Student Survives Bone Cancer after Practicing Falun Gong" was published on the Minghui website, the 610 Office in Baoding City initiated an investigation into Jianguo's whole family. At one time, four police cars blocked the entrance to his house, and many officers stood in front of the door. He and his parents were individually interrogated about whether they practiced Falun Gong and who wrote the story and posted the picture on the Internet. The family stated that Jianguo recovered from bone cancer only after he started to practice Falun Gong.

The Baoding City 610 Office then prepared a document, which stated that Jianguo did not recover from bone cancer as a result of Falun Gong. They pressured the Laishui County Education Committee, Jianguo's school, and his former teacher to force him to sign this document, but he refused.

Various CCP officials repeatedly threatened Jianguo and his family, to the point where he felt physically unwell. His sister brought him to the Laishui Hospital for a check-up. When they passed the Shiting Checkpoint on the way back, 610 Office agents stopped them and again tried to force them to sign the false document prepared by the 610 Office.
