(Clearwisdom.net) ADELAIDE, Australia--"I believe after seeing the show that the traditional culture of China is very peaceful," said business owner and retired music teacher Vladimer Velgush.

Ms. Velgush saw Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company play to an enthusiastic audience at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre during the matinée performance on Friday, May 7.

The former music teacher also felt after watching the show that the traditional Chinese culture portrayed by Shen Yun is "the true culture of China" and contains "disciplined principles about how to care for nature and live with nature."

"I believe that we people in the West can learn a lot from these principles because we can make our civilized life more enjoyable by appreciating the beauty in nature."

Ms. Velgush was impressed with how "very well trained" the dancers were, as well as with "the quality of the costumes," which are carefully designed and tailored with meticulous care, according to the Shen Yun website, in order to bring to stage China's five-millennia-old, divinely-bestowed culture, of which apparel has always played an essential part.

Human Rights Advocate: "It is good to see people advocating their position"

Heiki Thiel had taken her mother to see Shen Yun for Mother's Day, and said she "thought it was fantastic, lovely."

"It is just so pretty and colorful and the scenery is just so gorgeous."

Her mother she said was really enjoying it too.

Heiki said she was not familiar with Chinese culture and found Shen Yun "educational," saying that people needed "to be more open to Chinese culture" and to find out more about it.

Rachel, who works in law and human rights, was also in the audience with her friend Glen. Both enjoyed the Shen Yun performances.

"I thought it was fantastic," said Rachel.

Glen agreed, saying, "I thought it was good ... we enjoyed ourselves."

There was a diversity of moods in the show, said Rachel and she felt as if she had been "taken on a journey."

The contemporary scene, Nothing Can Block the Divine Path, which depicts the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners for their beliefs in China, had weighed heavily on Rachel, she said but she felt it was important to expose those sorts of abuses when they are occurring

"It is good to see people advocating their position. It takes knowledge to empower people."

She believed Shen Yun was important, as a means "to learn about the oppression of people, their way of life and how we can live in a more harmonious society."

Glen said he would tell people to go and see Shen Yun. "It is a good experience," he said.
