(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 25 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Qi Changyin Taken Away by the 610 Office after Nine Years in Prison
Mr. Qi Changyin from the Xichangzi area in Hongqi Township, Wuchang City, was illegally sentenced to nine years in prison. His family went to greet him on June 2, 2010, when he was to be released, but Wuchang City 610 Office personnel had already taken him away.
2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chi Xiandao and Ms. Han Guirong Each Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Chi Xiandao and Ms. Han Guirong have each been sentenced to four years in prison by the Shartu District Court in Daqing City. The two are expected to be taken to the Harbin Women's Prison.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Shuzhen Held in the No. 2 Detention Center
At around 9:00 p.m. on June 1, 2010, Ms. Lu Shuzhen was arrested at her home by Qiu Haochun and other officers from the Daqing Road Police Station in the Dongli District. Qiu is the officer in charge of the residential section where Ms. Lu lives. Despite Ms. Lu's failure to pass a physical examination, she was transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center.
4. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Additional Information on the Arrests of Ms. Zhou E and Mr. Chen Mingxing
Ms. Zhou E, in her 40s, is from Shibanlu ,Village in Jinyun County. She has spent a total of five or six years in prison. She was recently arrested and the police also confiscated a computer and a printer.
Mr. Chen Mingxing, in his 60s and retired, is from Wuyun Town. He was persecuted in a forcec labor camp. On May 23, 2010, state security officers in Lishui City arrested him. The officers also confiscated a computer and other Falun Dafa materials.
5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yan Arrested
On the morning of May 31, 2010, Ms. Jiang Yan, who lives in the Tianhe area in Shulan City, was arrested and taken to the Shulan City Food Department Brainwashing Center. The police also harassed two other practitioners' at their homes.
6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Peng Jilong Arrested
Mr. Peng Jilong, 63, lives in the Baixia District, Nanjing City. He was recently released from the Fangqiang Forced Labor. On May 26, 2010, he was again taken away by the police. His whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hong Mei Arrested
On the morning of June 1, 2010, Ms. Hong Mei, a Sanhe City resident, was at work when officers from the Xunyang Town Police Station in Sanhe City arrested her. By 1:00 that afternoon, she had been taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.

8. [Taiyang City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Baojun and Ms. Tian Jiang Arrested at Their Home
On June 3, 2010, officers from a police station in Taiyuan City broke into the home of Mr. Zhang Baojun and Ms. Tian Jiang, arrested the two practitioners, and searched their home. The whereabouts of the couple are unknown. It was reported that the home of Ms. Tian's mother in Yangqu County, Taiyuan City, was also searched.
9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Mr. Xu Zhiyin
Mr. Xu Zhiyin was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Tianhe District Police Department in Guangzhou City on the evening of May 23, 2010. Mr. Xu, about 41 years old, lives in the family quarters of the Guangdong Province Machinery Research Institute.

10. [Qionglai City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information on the Mistreatment of Elderly Ms. Yuan Yongwen
Ms. Yuan Yongwen is from Qionglai City. She was held in custody for over two years. She endured many instances of life-threatening torture. Her family's requests to visit her were denied until April 20, 2010, when they finally met with her in the General Hospital of Police Officers in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Ms. Yuan's life was in imminent danger. She was not able to think clearly and was having difficulty breathing. Her body was stiff and several of her teeth were missing. There were holes on her right hand. She was incontinent and emaciated.

11. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Yuping Viciously Beaten in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Chen Yuping was taken to the Maoming Brainwashing Center. On the evening of June 2, 2010, the night shift security guards viciously beat her. Both of her arms were bruised black and blue.
12. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Cuihong Arrested on the Afternoon of June 3, 2010; Her Whereabouts Unknown
13. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Chengshan Tortured in the No. 1 Ward of Daqing Prison
On the afternoon of June 1, 2010, an inmate named Cheng Hailiang, along with Ji Yonggang, head guard in charge of the team, took orders from and assisted Huo Weidong, a division head, to push Mr. Yang Chengshan into a cage that was about 2 feet tall. While he was held in the cage, they poured water all over him. Mr. Yang suffered a stiff neck due to a concussion.

14. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ma Guiying Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
15. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Meixiang and Another Practitioner Arrested in Beijing
Ms. Liu Meixiang, 48, and Mr. Bi Zhicai are from Boai County, Jiaozuo City. They work odd jobs in the Qingxiangge Dalian Seafood Restaurant at No. 15 Xiaoyun Road, the Chaoyang District, Beijing. On the evening of May 20, 2010, Ms. Liu was turned in to the police while she was practicing the Falun Gong exercises. She was arrested at around 10:20 p.m. by officers from the Chaoyang Police Department and is being held at the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
16. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shuxiu Detained
Ms. Li Shuxiu, who lives in the Huangdao District in Qingdao City, was reported to the police on June 2, 2010. She is currently in a detention center. Another practitioner, Ms. Xue Shulan, is also being detained there.
17. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Aizhi and Ms. Liang Mei Face Second Hearing
It has been reported that Ms. Wang Aizhi and Ms. Liang Mei, two practitioners from Zhoukou City, have been sentenced to prison. They will face a review and a second hearing in a week at the Zhoukou Intermediate Court.

18. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Wu Chunsheng Arrested
Mr. Wu Chunsheng was arrested in a barber shop in Zhengzhou City by Li Jiuzhou, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers on the morning of May 31, 2010.
19. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Guyuan County Police Harass Practitioners at Their Homes
Recently, officers from the local police station and the deputy commissioner of Xiaochang Township in Guyuan County, Zhangjiakou City, went to Ms. Liu Fenghua's home to harass her. At around the same time, an elderly practitioner, Ms. Liu, was arrested by officials from Huanggainao Township in Guyuan County while she was working in a field in Linyuan Village. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.
20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lu Haiyuan Arrested by Police; Her Home Searched
Ms. Lu Haiyun was reported to the police for distributing DVDs about Falun Gong on April 27, 2010. The same day, a dozen police officers showed up at her home in the Fanyu District, Guangzhou City. The police confiscated a bag of Falun Gong materials and arrested Ms. Lu, who is being held at the Shawan Detention Center in the Fanyu District. This is the third time she has been arrested.
21. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Wanfang Arrested at His Home
On the morning of June 1, 2010, state security officers from Guangyuan City, state security officers from Wangcang County, and officers from the Jiachuan Town Police Station broke into Mr. Luo Wangfan's home. The officers did not have a search warrant. They arrested Mr. Luo, searched his home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials. The whereabouts of Mr. Luo, who is in his 70s, are unknown.
22. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lan Huiming Appeals Prison Sentencing
Ms. Lan Huiming, 61, was videotaped by security cameras while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in an office building of the Geological Chemistry Research Institute affiliated with the Academy of Science of China in the Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. The security section head of the institute reported her to the police. On September 1, 2009, officers from the Wushan Police Station in the Tianhe District arrested her. The police searched her home and confiscated a notebook computer and a DVD burner. During the initial trial in the Tianhe District Court on May 7, 2010, she was sentenced to three years in prison. She has filed an appeal for a second hearing.

23. [Duolun County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wu Huajun Arrested
Ms. Wu Huajun was turned in to the police, followed, and arrested on the morning of June 1, 2010. The police searched her home and confiscated Falun Dafa materials.

26. [Hunan Province] Mr. Cao Gaoxiang Taken to Labor Camp
Mr. Cao Gaoxiang, who lives in Huatang Town in the Suxian District, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, was arrested in July 2008. He was taken to the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year sentence. Ms. Xiao Guijiao, a retired doctor from a railroad hospital, was arrested with Mr. Gao.
27. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiang Liyuan and Several Other Practitioners Arrested
On May 25, 2010, officers from the Zhongshan Road Police Station in Xiangtan City arrested Ms. Xiang Liyuan, Mr. Tang Tieqiang and his wife, and an elderly practitioner with the last name Liang. Mr. Liu Heqing from Xiangtan County is missing.
28. [Huanyuan County, Shanxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
On the afternoon of May 29, 2010, six practitioners were arrested in a practitioner's home in Hunyuan County. The practitioners are being held at the Lingqiu County Detention Center.
29. [Beijing] Ms. Jin Xiuwen and Mr. Liu Xigong Defended by Attorney to Uphold Their Innocence
On June 2, 2010, Ms. Jin Xiuwen and Mr. Liu Xigong were tried in the Haidian District Court. An attorney defended them. After the trial was adjourned, the two practitioners were taken back to the Haidian Detention Center.
30. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wen Yan in the Longtan District Arrested Around 6:00 p.m. on May 28, 2010
31. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Unlawfully Sentenced in the Shenhe District Court
Sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners who were recently tired at the Shenhe District Court occurred on the afternoon of May 31, 2010. Some of the results are as follows:
Mr. Ma Guoqi was sentenced to three years in prison, Mr. Feng Dafu to three years in prison with a three-year reprieve. Ms. Guo Hongyan refused to sign the sentencing papers. Her family also refused the sign despite being told that she would be released by October 15, 2010, if they did sign. Ms. Wang Yuchun was said to have been released that evening. It is not clear what Mr. Huang Xiaojie was sentenced to.
At around 4:00 p.m. Mr. Ma, Ms. Guo, and Mr. Huang were chained by their arms to a single chain and taken back to the detention center.
32. [Funing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Shuzhen and Three Other Practitioners Face Trial
It has recently been reported that the Funing County Court was planning to sentence Mr. Meng Chu to prison. Ms. Pang Xiaohong and Ms. Xu Gongyun are on parole pending trial. Ms. Wei Shuzhen has defended her belief in Falun Gong and faces a prison term.
