(Clearwisdom.net) Many Falun Gong practitioners from Wafangdian, Dalian City have been illegally arrested, sentenced to forced labor camps and had their homes ransacked since August 2009, when Sun Qiang was appointed as the deputy mayor and head of the Police Department of Wafangdian. Below is a partial account of the persecution that the practitioners have suffered.
1. Ms. Ni Cuixia Sent to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Ni Cuixia, a teacher from the Xiyang Town Elementary School in Wafangdian, Dalian City, had been illegally imprisoned in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for one year. At around 7 a.m. on May 27, 2010, just one month after her release from the labor camp, head of the Comprehensive Administration Office Qu Shengyang, deputy head of Xiyang Town Liu Renzhou, and 10 other police officers broke into her house and took her and her husband in two separate cars to Wafangdian City Police Station. Upon arrival there, Qu ordered Ms. Ni's husband to wait in the car, while Ms. Ni was taken to the Wafangdian Political and Judiciary Committee. About half an hour later, Qu told Ms. Ni's husband that he could return home, but that his wife was being sent to the Fushun Brainwashing Center. When Ms. Ni's husband and daughter went to Qu Shengyang's office the next day to request for Ms. Ni to be released, Qu claimed that he was directed to detain Ms. Ni for 30 days by the Wafangdian 610 Office.
2. Ms. Yu Lianhui Sentenced to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Yu Lianhui from Yangjia Town, Wafangdian was arrested by officials from the local police station, Wafangdian Political Security Division, and Wafangdian 610 Office on the morning of November 2, 2009. Officers also ransacked her home and stole money and personal property. She was detained at the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian until the end of November 2009, when she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.
3. Mr. Li Wenhua Arrested
Mr. Li Wenhua, a teacher from the Dalian Oceanic University, was called into the office of the head of the university security department on November 20, 2009, for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. He was subsequently arrested by officers from the Wafangdian Political Security Division. They also ransacked his apartment and office.
4. Mr. Yu Xichun Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor
Mr. Yu Xichun was arrested while he was posting truth-clarification materials in Fangyuanxincun on the afternoon of December 21, 2009, and sent to the Wafangdian Detention Center. On December 22, police officer He Qiang from the Gongji Police Station and three other police officers ransacked his house and confiscated all of his Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials. Mr. Yu was sentenced to two years of forced labor and transferred to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp around January 20, 2010.
5. Ms. Liu Yunfeng Sentenced to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Liu Yunfeng was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station while she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on the morning of January 29, 2010. Officers also ransacked her house and took away all of her Falun Gong books and other personal property. She was sent to the Dalian Yaojia Detention Center and subsequently sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. On May 5, 2010, she was transferred to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun.
