Corn Crops Grow Well Naturally

Sept. 3, 2010 |   By a practitioner from Hebei Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) An elderly farmer and his wife live in a village facing southeast of Luannan County in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Their son and daughter-in-law live in a city. Once the young couple went home to visit their parents. Their parents told them a very upsetting thing, that a neighbor had dug a ditch through their farmland in order to water the crops in his field. The elderly couple thought that this neighbor was obviously taking advantage of them, as though the neighbor didn't care about using their land. So they felt very upset.

After hearing of what happened to his parents, the son was very angry too and felt that he couldn't watch his parents being taken advantage of. Therefore, he immediately discussed plans with his father to gather their friends and relatives together to beat the neighbor. They felt that only by doing so could they relieve their angry feelings. However, the daughter-in-law, who is a Falun Dafa practitioner, said to them: "Listen to me, the neighbor will not be rich, nor will we be poor because of that little bit of land he uses, so let him use it." She then patiently explained to them her reasoning for allowing the neighbor to use the land, and tolerate it according to the principles of Falun Dafa. The mother was also afraid that if the neighbor got hurt they would have to take care of him. So they finally reached an agreement to tolerate their neighbor.

The son feared that if his parents went to their field, they might become angry again, so he asked his parents not to go there to take care of their corn seedlings. His parents indeed didn't go to their field. At that time, the corn seedings were very small and crowded. After the parents agreed not to visit their field, the crops were not fertilized at all, nor were the fields weeded. The corn was thus allowed to grow naturally.

One day, a villager had a talk with the old man and mentioned that his crops had grown very well. After returning home, he felt very bad and said to his wife: "The villager I talked to today told me that our crops are growing very well. He is mocking us. " His wife answered: "Let's go to our field to take a look at our crops." The elderly couple decided to go to a farmers' market and pass through their field on the way. They were shocked when they saw their crops had grown so well, naturally, with long and strong corn stalks, growing one after another. It was a miracle! When the crops were harvested, the elderly couple loaded several truckloads full of corn. The villagers were surprised that their corn had grown well! The elderly couple further believed what their daughter-in-law had said was right and deeply understood the meaning of "when you take a step back in a conflict, you will find the seas and the skies boundless, and it will certainly be another situation." (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun) Later the neighbor who had dug the ditch through the elderly couple's field admitted what he had done was wrong, so the two families' relationship became as harmonious as before.
