(Clearwisdom.net), The 610 Office of Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, has always used underhanded methods to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and since late August 2010, it has begun another round of persecution. Below is an exposure some of its crimes.
I. Arrest of innocent Falun Gong practitioners
At around 10:00 a.m. on August 24, eight or nine police officers, including one female officer, from the National Security Team of Shanan, Zhoukou City, broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioners Qin Xuexian and his wife Guo Fengqin. At that moment, Mr. Qin and Ms. Guo were not at home. Only their two granddaughters were there. The police asked for their whereabouts and the two little girls replied, "They took their youngest granddaughter to see a doctor." The police asked one of the little girls for Ms. Guo's cell phone number and then asked the little girl to call her grandmother and ask one of them to come back home. After receiving her granddaughter's phone call, Ms. Guo began to walk back home. When she reached the intersection near her home, she saw a police car parked next to a store and a female police officer was in the car. She immediately realized that there was something wrong and left the area at once. The police failed in their plot to arrest them but ransacked their home until after noon. They took away their TV satellite receiver and other personal items. Mr. Qin and his wife still cannot return home, so they have become homeless, taking their 96-year-old mother with them.
Ms. Li Changying, 66 years old, is a retiree from the District Science and Technology Commission of Chuanhui. Her husband Sun Zhanping, 70 years old, is a retiree from the Office Supply Department of Zhoukou. Both are Falun Gong practitioners. At around 10:00 a.m. on August 31, about seven police officers, including one female officer led by Gao Feng, the team leader of the National Security Team of Zhoukou, suddenly broke into the home of Ms. Li and Mr. Sun. They ransacked the home and took Dafa books and materials, a desktop computer, a laptop, a digital camera and both of their salary checkbooks, etc. Then the police took both of them to the National Security Team of Zhoukou to interrogate them. After that, police sent both of them to Zhoukou Detention Center. Their five-year-old granddaughter was also taken to the National Security Team; however, later around 12:30 p.m., they allowed a family member to take their granddaughter home.
On the afternoon of September 10, a village official from Yaotan Village, Libukou Town, Chuanhui District went to Mr. Yao Shangling's home and requested he attend a meeting. Mr. Yao is already over 60 years old. Because he was not at home, the village cadre waited until dark and still would not leave. Before dawn the next morning, someone knocked on Mr. Yao's door. His wife went to open the door and saw someone had already climbed over their yard wall and entered their yard. After she opened the door, about nine officers from the Taiwulu Police Station broke in and demanded, "Is Yao Shangling at home?" She replied, "No." The police then asked where he was. She replied, "I don't know." The police kept asking her again and again but did not get the answer they wanted. They then searched each room but did not find anything. At last, before they left, they told her that when Mr. Yao came back, she should tell him to go to Taiwulu Police Station and sign a document stating he is not practicing Falun Gong anymore. Mr. Yao Shangling has not been able to return home.
II. Holding brainwashing sessions
For many years, the 610 Office of Chuanhui District has attempted to hold brainwashing sessions to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Because the local units have shifted their responsibilities onto each other, and because Falun Gong practitioners have resisted the plan, they have not been able to hold any sessions. Not long ago, after the closing of the national conference of the 610 Office in Wuhan, the head of the 610 Office of Zhoukou ordered that they once again plan to have a so-called "Study Class" brainwashing session for those Falun Gong practitioners who were on their blacklist. They planned to have a half-month session, and each person had to pay 3,000 yuan. The 610 Office of Chuanhui District provided a list of names, and they asked every agency, residential committee, and village card-holder to go to several Falun Gong practitioners' homes and force them to attend the session. However, Falun Gong practitioners have been correctly rejecting this.
