Additional Persecution News from China – January 10, 2011 (2 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in two cities or counties in one province. According to this report, four Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least two practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tianjin] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Practitioner Couple Ms. Chen Liyan and Mr. Li Xiwang

Ms. Chen Liyan and her husband Mr. Li Xiwang were arrested on December 21, 2010. The arrest took place in front of the gate of Residential Apartment No. 43 in the Nujiangli Residential Area of the Hebei District, Tianjin. Officers from the Dayingmen Police Station in the Hexi District made the arrest and ransacked their home.

In addition, several police officers harassed Ms. Wu at home in the Datong Garden Residential Area of the Hedong District. The police also arrested another practitioner couple that same day. They ransacked the couple's home and confiscated more than 7,200 yuan in cash, a computer, a grinding machine, medical devices, and some medical supplies.

2. [Hebei Province] Quyang Court Officials Scheduled a Trial for Ms. Liu Shunxian

Ms. Liu Shunxian is a farmer in Wazi Village. Officers from the Quyang County Domestic Security Division and from the Lingshan Town Police Station broke into her home at 7:00 a.m. on August 16, 2010. They arrested Ms. Liu and confiscated a computer, a printer, an MP3 player and Falun Gong books.

The police took Ms. Liu to the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp the following day, where a physical examination disqualified her. The camp officials refused to accept her, so Quyang County Police Department officials submitted her case to the county's Procuratorate.

Quyang Court officials placed Ms. Liu's case on file for prosecution on December 1, and scheduled a trial for her on January 8, 2011.
