Children of Falun Gong Practitioners Discriminated Against at School

Jan. 17, 2011 |   By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) When I was arrested by 610 Office agents in 2008, members of the 610 Office also went to my daughter's school and tried to pressure the principal to call for a school-wide meeting to slander Falun Gong. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was resorting to implication and other coercive measures widely used during the Cultural Revolution to stir hatred among the masses. The 610 Office's intention was to poison the minds of students in my daughter's school, while at the same time discriminating against and isolating my daughter. The school officials did not carry out what the authorities wanted. For some time, the 610 Office sent out people to follow my daughter after school. They were trying to arrest any practitioners who would contact my daughter, but none of their tricks worked.

After I was released, my wife and daughter mentioned this to me. I did not give it much thought and figured that it was an isolated incident. However, in an exchange with an out of town practitioner, I learned about a similar scheme used by the local 610 Office in her town. In her case, the 610 Office was able to pressure the school officials to call for a meeting attended by all the teachers and students. The principal of the school made an inflammatory speech, in which he slandered Falun Gong and accused the practitioner's daughter without mentioning her name, but making clear who he was talking about. The teacher in charge of the class also coerced classmates to not to associate with her daughter. The girl felt quite isolated in school, which psychologically harmed her.

After this exchange, I realized that the CCP's coercive measures, implications, and discrimination against children of Falun Gong practitioners, slandering Falun Dafa, and persecution of practitioners all serve its devious purpose of poisoning and destroying sentient beings. The impact is especially harmful for students who are at a young age and whose views are easily molded by teachers, school officials, or propaganda materials.

Consequently, we need to pay attention to presenting the facts about Falun Gong to school officials and teachers more effectively. Those of us who have children who are school-aged should take this as an opportunity for truth clarification.
