Treating Everyone Equally

Jan. 2, 2011 |   By Guang Ming from mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) I became a police officer not long after I obtained the Fa. When Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, I didn't know what to do, except for studying the Fa. It was not until October 2000 that I stepped forward to validate the Fa.

When I first started to talk to people about Falun Gong, I set a rule for myself: I should treat everyone equally, no matter if they are a prisoner or a police officer, a CCP official or an everyday person, an old friend or an old enemy. I will treat everyone with the same attitude and I must let them know the facts about Falun Gong. The effect of my truth clarification has been good during the past few years. Among those I have spoken to, one prisoner obtained the Fa, several police officers quit the CCP and several officials have secretly helped practitioners.

Master has told us that when we are saving people, we are saving that individual, no matter what their profession or social status is. I have met several practitioners who treat police officers differently than others, and do not regard them as individuals. When a practitioner was released from prison in 2001, he told me that he became afraid every time he saw a police officer and immediately sent forth righteous thoughts. So I told him that police officers also need to be saved.

A colleague once told me that practitioners always phoned him. I told him that the practitioners were trying to let him know the facts about Falun Gong, and I also took the opportunity to talk to him. He then agreed to quit the CCP.

I want to ask fellow practitioners not to treat all officials as truly evil people, since many of them can also be saved. Even if they have participated in the persecution, we should explain the facts to them with compassion. The power of compassion is tremendous. Master said:

“Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring
Righteous thoughts can save the people in this world”
(“The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos” in Hong Yin II)

If Master saves the secret agents as well as people in other professions, then we shouldn't exclude officials and police officers from being saved. We should try our best to save more people. Even when we expose the persecution and send forth righteous thoughts, we should do it compassionately, with no hatred attached. If we are against the perpetrators, haven't we stooped to their level on that particular issue? In my understanding, no matter who we talk to, as long as they are willing to listen to the facts, we should talk to them compassionately. As long as they can still be saved, we should provide the opportunity for them and not miss anyone that needs to be saved.

I welcome fellow practitioners to point out anything that is improper.
