Letting Go of Self During the Process of Coordination

Jan. 27, 2011 |   By a practitioner from Shenyang City, China

(Clearwisdom.net) I took the time to learn computer systems management in 2009. Since then, I've had many opportunities to make contact with other practitioners. I also teach computer skills to practitioners who have never previously touched computers.

I trained one middle-aged female practitioner several times, but she still could not remember the steps. I then asked her to write down the steps. Surprisingly, however, she didn't know how to write. Several days later, she asked me to come over to her home again, and I started teaching her from the beginning again. Meanwhile, I complained in my heart because she had asked me to come over five or six times before that—and every time, I had made sure that she knew how to operate the system before leaving.

When I saw her again afterward, she told me that she could not log on to the Internet because she could not access the system. I came over to check the issue and found out that she had entered the wrong password. Then I became upset and said something that was not very nice. She almost cried, and I too felt very bad and knew that my action was not based on the Fa.

Teacher has taught us the principles of cooperating with each other. In the past, I always had this understanding: When other practitioners come up with Dafa projects, I should just work with them unconditionally. However, this incident led me to realize deeper meanings of cooperation. The computer is our Fa implement, and we need to cooperate with it. When fellow practitioners teach each other, they also need to achieve full cooperation between the teacher and the learner. I've realized that the process of coordination is also a process of letting go of “self.”

In the past I would only teach in my established way, without considering the learner—I mentioned “I” many times when I spoke and always emphasized myself. I did not consider this practitioner's learning ability and starting point. In fact, it isn't that she couldn't learn. The repeated learning process was actually there to eliminate my attachments. In fact, I had wasted her precious time.

When I talked to her again, she told me, “I could not log onto the Internet again.” This time, I went to her home calmly. It turned out that she had inadvertently deleted some software. I complimented her for learning how to clean up the desktop and only reminded her not to delete the useful files. Seeing my change of attitude, she was very happy. Later, she invited another practitioner over to her home to download Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials.

Cultivation is so wonderful. We should improve our realm by eliminating human attachments and assist Teacher in rectifying the Fa and saving sentient beings.
