Greetings, everyone!
Today I want to share with everyone a little of my experiences of how I clarify the truth face to face and persuade people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in San Francisco.
It was only after Master came to the Bay area to lecture twice, did I really start to do a large amount of truth-clarification work face to face. Master’s weighty and serious words hit me like a sledgehammer and shook my heart to urgently save sentient beings.
Afterwards, through studying the Fa to incessantly strengthen my righteous thoughts, I became very clear about my responsibility and why I came to this world.
Master said,
“…you are not in fact saving those people for Master’s sake, and neither is it done for others. You are saving them for yourselves, for very possibly those are to be the future sentient beings of your paradises, or are to belong to your expanse. You can’t let it become that when you return to your rightful place, you are like a commander-in-chief without an army, with it completely empty there, just one lone figure occupying that massive cosmic body. Buddhas aren’t supposed to be impoverished; they should be wealthy. The lives there are your riches, and only with them will your paradise be able to thrive. They all count as riches—every life counts as riches.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa”)
In the beginning, I didn’t know how to clarify the truth. I just remembered what Master told us at the beginning of the year, that the general idea when clarifying the truth is to not say things that are of too high a level. Clarify the truth from the basics—that is, tell people what Falun Gong is and that the Tiananmen Square self immolation is fake. With this simple thought of doing it and simple guidance of what I should say, I took my first step to clarify the truth and persuade people to quit the CCP—clarifying the truth face to face. It didn’t matter if I happened to meet the person on the street or if I especially went to someone, and from one person a day to more than 20 people a day during peak days, I was continuously accumulating experiences of clarifying the truth face to face.
Below are some little stories of my persuading people to quit the CCP.
1. Clarify the truth, get rid of the human mentality
Once I went to Chinatown after work to persuade people to quit the CCP and I was relatively successful. Four people quit within an hour. This was the first time that I was able to do it so quickly. I felt very happy. I thought: I should persuade one more person, then I can tell my fellow practitioners that I persuaded five people to quit today. With this thought coming out, I wasn’t able to persuade anyone to quit in the next half an hour. I looked within and found that I had developed a feeling of complacency and a mentality of showing off. After realizing it, I immediately got rid of it. I didn’t want to tell my fellow practitioners anymore. I decided to go back home. I thought that maybe on the way home, I’d be able to meet that last person.
Sure enough, when I was riding the transit back home, I heard someone beside me giving a young woman directions. When that person got off the bus, I said to the girl, “Follow me, I get off there, too.” Then we naturally struck up a conversation. I found out that she was a student from China studying abroad and she was visiting Chinatown that day. After getting off the bus, I gave her a copy of truth-clarification material and started to clarify the truth to her. She was very willing to listen and nodded as I explained things to her. When I talked about quitting the CCP, she hesitated. She said that she didn’t quite know about it. Pointing to the materials I gave her, she said that she would go back and read them first. I had a feeling that she would say it this way. Before she finished, my heart had a thought: Opportunity comes but once. If you leave right now, when will you have an opportunity to meet a Falun Gong practitioner again. I can’t let her go. I said offhandedly, “Quit first. Then read it. You are very fortunate.” With this simple sentence, she very readily quit. At the time, my voice was very loud. People around me were all looking at me. I felt that it wasn’t me who was saying it. It was Master strengthening me and giving me wisdom and power.
2. It is all done by Master
Once, I was exchanging experience with a fellow practitioner from Hong Kong about persuading people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I told her that yesterday I had persuaded eight people to quit. She said, “You persuaded eight people or even more people, but it’s not you who did it. It was Master who did it in another dimension. You were merely doing the specific operations in this dimension.” I knew that through her Master was giving me hints. I didn’t expect it, but very quickly Master let me see the power of Fa through a miraculous experience.
After that sharing, I went out again to persuade people to quit. Quickly, a woman decided to quit. She told me that her surname was Lei. I then said, “I’ll give you an alias.” I thought to myself: What alias should I use? I’ve used Meili (beautiful) as well as ruyi (as one wishes). Ah, I might as well use meiru (beautiful and as one wishes). I told her the name that I had made up for her. She seemed stupefied and asked me it again, louder, “What?” So I replied loudly, “Lei Meiru. How about that?” She was very surprised and said, “How did you know my name?” I immediately understood. What the fellow practitioner had just reminded me of immediately manifested. Really, it was Master who was doing this!
3. Unremitting through to the end
It’s not all smooth sailing in the process of clarifying the truth. Often I encounter people who don’t yet know the truth and people who have very bad attitudes, but I don’t give up no matter what. I just want to save people, so the results are very good.
Master said,
“As for saving sentient beings and clarifying the truth, a lot of people haven’t done it in depth. They’ll say just a few words to people, thinking ‘Listen or don’t listen, just do whatever you like. You don’t want to listen, fine!’ and they’ll go on to find the next person. In whatever you do you should carry it through to the end, do it well, and if you intend to save someone, then go ahead and save him.” (“What Is a Dafa Disciple”)
Once I was clarifying the truth to a person who was waiting for the bus. At first, she was very unwilling to listen. When the bus came, she immediately boarded it. I thought: Other practitioners would take the opportunity to clarify the truth with another person when he or she walks with that person, so I’ll ride the bus with her in order to clarify the truth. I followed her onto the bus and sat next to her. She appeared to be very unhappy, looking left and right, wanting to find another seat to escape me. As I talked to her, I sent forth righteous thoughts. At the time I thought, “You can’t leave. You need to finish listening to what I say, and you need to quit.” Really, it was righteous thoughts displaying the might of divine beings. Her attitude completed turned around. She no longer looked left and right. She listened to me in earnest and nodded from time to time. In the end, just before the last stop, she agreed to quit and thanked me happily.
4. Master brings predestined people to me
In the process of truth clarification, I’m keenly aware that as long as I follow Master’s words without thinking too much, Master will bring predestined people in front of me.
One day after doing the exercises, I walked along a familiar path. Normally I don’t need to cross the street, but that day, although I didn’t know why, I crossed the street. Only when I crossed the street did I realize it. How could this have happened? I thought: This can’t be coincidental. Was it because there is a predestined person whom I need to save? When I had this thought, I quickly glanced in front of me and to my right and left. There wasn’t anyone. When I was about to look back, a person passed by me rapidly. I looked at him instinctively. Before I could see him clearly, I followed him. When I got close to him, he turned around and greeted me with nihao (hello). When I heard him speaking mandarin, I immediately relaxed, “Ah, you speak Mandarin.” I immediately gave him a copy of truth-clarification material and asked if he knew about Falun Gong. He said that he had heard about it before. I then asked him if he knew that Falun Gong has been persecuted for 12 years in Mainland China, and that the persecution is still continuing. He said that he wasn’t clear on that, so I told him the truth about the persecution and the wonderfulness of Dafa. As he listened, he nodded. In the end, he very straightforwardly quit the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank Master for selecting me and giving me this opportunity.
