An Ideal Coordinator

Oct. 4, 2011 |   By a Falun Gong Practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) I became a practitioner in 1994. I am the coordinator and technical assistant of the local area. I want to share my suggestions for being an effective coordinator.

1. Study the Fa well. I set a goal to read a chapter of Zhuan Falun in addition to two hours of reading other lectures, every day. I do not have a regular job, however my workload maintaining the material site is heavy.

2. Send forth righteous thoughts at the set times, and more often if time allows. If local practitioners set up additional times to send forth righteous thoughts, we should do our best to cooperate. I felt that about one-third of our local practitioners could not master how to send forth righteous thoughts. So I suggested they watch Master's lectures, and read the articles from other practitioners regarding this. I have observed that the practitioners who are in a state of gradual enlightenment are more focused in sending forth righteous thoughts than the others. We should ignore any noise or other activity while sending forth righteous thoughts.

3. Cooperation among practitioners is essential. The situation is better in the areas where local practitioners cooperate well with each another. In the areas where practitioners do not cooperate well, the evil forces are still very prevalent and practitioners don't work as one body. It's normal to have disagreements with one another, however, we must always remember to look inward. Otherwise, there is trouble, and we cannot assist Master with saving sentient beings. In addition to looking inward, we need to send forth righteous thoughts to overcome disharmony. Falun Gong practitioners from China generally have good inborn quality, but, many have the attachment of jealousy, which can turn into feelings of resentment. This can greatly hinder the cooperation among practitioners. Master told us that we must cooperate with each other. Coordinators need to be especially aware of being kind to every practitioner. When other practitioners embarrass us, we should understand that this is a chance to improve ourselves. We have to look inward and see where we can improve ourselves. If we want cooperation, we must first cooperate, set an example for others. In order to work together as one cohesive unit, we must treat each other with kindness and respect. Criticizing and bossing others around will not work. The key to opening the door of communication and cooperation is looking inward first. Cultivating ourselves well will change the environment.

4. We cannot be moved by praise. Nor can we be bothered by criticism, this is always an opportunity to improve ourselves, once again, looking inward.

Everyone's cultivation path is different. I wanted to share my experiences with my fellow practitioners. Please kindly point out anything improper!
