(Clearwisdom.net) Yu Zhifang is head of the Prison Administrative Division at Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province. She was the former captain of the seventh middle team. She actively participates in brutally persecuting practitioners.
Yu Viciously Tortured and Insulted Ms. Zhang Zhiqin
Ms. Zhang Zhiqin, 59, is a practitioner from Gulin County, Luzhou City. She was arrested by officers from the Gulin County Public Security Bureau in 2001 and held in a local detention center. When she refused to give up her belief, the guards handcuffed her and hung her up by the handcuffs for two weeks, dislocating her arms. She was also beaten and humiliated. She was later sentenced to four years imprisonment at the seventh middle team of Yangmahe Women's Prison.
At that time, Yu was the captain of the seventh middle team. She kept Ms. Zhang handcuffed around the clock for a year, even when Ms. Zhang was eating and using the restroom. To protest the mistreatment, Ms. Zhang held a hunger strike. Yu then instigated inmates Cai Xianli and Guo Junhua to torture Ms. Zhang. They kept torturing her in order to get sentence reductions. They hung her up from a tree while she was still handcuffed; they forced-fed her; and they pinched her lips and neck. As a result, there were bruises on her neck and lips for a long time. In the summer, the two inmates tied her to a tree from 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. after taping her mouth shut. This continued for six months. Ms. Zhang's weight dropped from over 100 pounds to only 70 pounds. When a new practitioner was brought to the prison, Yu would torture Ms. Zhang in front of that practitioner in attempts to force the practitioner to give up practicing Falun Gong. Yu once sat on a chair, smiling, drinking tea, and eating while she watched Ms. Zhang being tortured.
After Yu failed to force Ms. Zhang to give up her belief, she instigated prisoners Cai and Guo to strip her naked, forcing her to hide behind the garbage storage area. Yu then declared to all the prisoners in the ward that Ms. Zhang had gone insane due to practicing Falun Gong.
Yu then ordered collaborators to move Ms. Zhang to an open space and slander her. Yu even called Ms. Zhang's husband and told him that his wife had become mentally ill because of her practice. Yu also told Ms. Zhang's husband to come to the prison and see for himself.
Since Ms. Zhang remained a steadfast practitioner, Yu handcuffed her to a gate and viciously hit her with a hard object. Ms. Zhang screamed from the pain. When Ms. Zhang still refused to give up Falun Dafa despite all the torture, Yu transferred her to the eighth ward in 2004.
Yu Tortured Ms. Lv Yanfei
Ms. Lv Yanfei, 61, was sentenced to three years imprisonment because she practices Falun Dafa. She was tortured in Yangmahe Women's Prison because she refused to give up her belief.
To show that she was an “expert” in “transforming” practitioners, Yu asked to have Ms. Lv transferred to the seventh ward. At first she pretended to be interested in Falun Dafa and talked nicely to Ms. Lv. When Ms. Lv failed to “transform,” she then instigated inmates Cai and Guo to harass her. Whenever Ms. Lv went to relieve herself, Cai and Guo rushed over and pushed her into the latrine pit. They once stuffed a used tampon into Ms. Lv's mouth. Ms. Lv tried to expose the mistreatment to everyone in the prison. Guo got angry and threw a piece of firewood at her.
On one occasion, when officials from the Prison Bureau were inspecting the prison, Yu was worried that Ms. Lv might expose her crimes. She told inmates Cai, Guo, and Feng Chengying to lock Ms. Lv in solitary confinement. They stuffed her mouth with a mop and pinched her neck. Ms. Lv almost suffocated and her face was covered with wounds.
Before Ms. Lv was released, Yu called Hong County 610 Office personnel to pick her up and monitor her. After her release, Ms. Lv began to tell others how the prison staff persecuted practitioners. As a result, she was arrested again and held in Zizhong Forced Labor Camp. After she was released, she was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.
Yu Detained Ms. Zhou Houqin in Solitary Confinement for Three Months
Ms. Zhou Houqin, in her 50s, was an inmate in the seventh ward at Yangmahe Prison. She learned about Falun Dafa from Ms. Lv. She believed in the principles of Falun Dafa and began to practice it.
One day when Ms. Lv and Ms. Zhou were doing the sitting meditation, criminal inmate Yang Jun reported them to Yu. Yu then dragged Ms. Zhou to the prison guards' duty office and tortured her. Ms. Zhou would not give up practicing Falun Dafa. Yu yelled at her hysterically, “As soon as you say that you will stop practicing, I will stop beating you.” But Ms. Zhou refused to. The next day, Yu locked Ms. Zhou in solitary confinement for three months before transferring her to the ninth ward.
Yu Came Up With Sinister Ways to Persecute Practitioners
After Yu failed to “transform” Ms. Lv and Ms. Zhang, she began to read Falun Gong's main book, Zhuan Falun. She wanted to twist the teachings of Falun Gong to try to deceive practitioners into giving up the practice. She also went to listen to the collaborators who tried to brainwash and persuade practitioners to give up their beliefs. She then wrote down her conclusions on how to brainwash practitioners. After Yu was transferred to the Prison Administration Division, she gathered the collaborators from each ward and listened to who they brainwashed practitioners every day.
