(Clearwisdom.net) In July 1999, Jiang Zemin and the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong. Because practitioner Yan Xiuhua publicly exposed the persecution, she was blackmailed and detained multiple times. She was blackmailed 3,000 yuan by the Dongning County Police Department.
After Yan Xiuhua was sentenced, she was detained in the ninth district of the Harbin City Women's Forced Labor Camp. In 2004, it was called a “transformation center” because policewoman Jia Jiaojun and prisoner Qi Chunyan formed a group of prisoners to specifically torture practitioners. They constantly insulted and hit practitioners. They did not allow practitioners to sleep, take showers or change clothes, in their attempts to “transform” them.
In the spring of 2002, they forced practitioners who refused to write statements renouncing their beliefs. This lasted from spring to winter. Those who refused to obey were dragged out. Police used sticks, electric batons, fists and feet to hit and kick them. In the winter, practitioners were taken out to suffer the cold outdoor weather and not allowed to come indoors for several days. Practitioners were also forced to clean up animal excrement. Some practitioners' hands and feet were wounded from the cold winter conditions. The guards constantly stuffed dirty socks into practitioners' mouths, and used toothpicks to poke practitioners' fingers and skin under the nails. Some practitioners were hung on bed rails for long periods of time. Some practitioners were locked into the changing room for months at a time, including the cold nights there. Some practitioners had to spend nights in bathrooms for many days. They tortured practitioners by hanging them up for 7-8 days. Some practitioners lost consciousness and became paralyzed. Every day some practitioners were taken to solitary confinement rooms, some practitioners were locked up, some practitioners were force-fed.
Practitioner Yan Xiuhua was deprived of food for a long time between 2003 to 2004, nor was she allowed to buy any food. Her teeth started to bleed, became loose and gradually fell out. In April 2005, prisoner Liu Bo, who was assigned to monitor her closely, suddenly pushed her and held her down, causing a lumbar disc herniation, which brought tremendous pain to her.
In the 9th district of the Harbin Women's Prison, starting from the winter of 2002, they forced practitioners to memorize the names of prisoners while four prisoners watched each practitioner at a time. They forced practitioners to report to the government. Those who refused to report were not allowed family visits, nor were they allowed to answer phone calls or have written communication with their family. Dong Lingui refused to report, thus she was forced to do forced labor and detained in a solitary confinement for a month. Those practitioners who refused to cooperate were beaten, starved and detained in solitary confinement.
At that time, Zheng Jie was the group leader. At the end of 2003, he forced 32 practitioners to sit on
a tile floor. The floor was wiped wet at 6am, then they required the practitioners to sit on the floor until 11pm. This kind of torture lasted from the end of March to Oct. 1. Then they tortured one practitioner per day. They tied and beat practitioners, forced them to squat for a long time or forced them to do hard labor. The practitioners stopped the torture and did not allow the police to take anyone away. Zheng Jie was very angry, so he ordered two policemen to beat all practitioners. On that day, four practitioners were taken to solitary confinement rooms. They are Liu Kun, Jiang Minshan, Yang Baozhu and Feng Haibo. Practitioners held strong righteous thoughts. From then on, the police did not take away any individual practitioners.
Then the police started to starve the practitioners. They only gave each practitioner half of a steamed bun per meal, which is about 1.5 oz. This kind of torture lasted from April to Oct. During this period, practitioners were not allowed to buy any food and their physical health was seriously damaged.
In the spring of 2004, with prisoners moved to another location, another kind of persecution started. The police forced practitioners to do slave work. Those practitioners who resisted were carried away by four prisoners. These practitioners were beaten and detained in solitary confinement rooms.
On the night of Feb. 22, 2004, several practitioners were force-fed. They are Fu Lihua, Sun Fenglin, Wang Yuzhuo, Wang Jinfan, Cui Jinglian, Shi Lijun, Zhang Guiqin, Sun Chunhuan, Deng Jianmei. On the morning of Feb. 13, Yan Xiuhua was forcefully carried out by 4-5 prisoners to work. Zhang Suli was dragged on the ground by several people. At noon, prisoners went downstairs to carry fabric. The group leaders forced all practitioners to go downstairs to work. Those practitioners who resisted were verbally abused. In the past, practitioners never went downstairs to load or carry fabric.
At around 9pm, March 20, 2011, practitioners Lu Xiulan and Yan Xiuhua were arrested while they were not at home. Their homes were also ransacked. They were detained in the Second Police Station in Dongning (which is also called the Guangming Police Station). Lu Xiulan was detained for five days and paid a 200 yuan fine. Yan Xiuhua was detained for 7 days, and paid a 500 yuan fine.
At around 8am, Sept. 24, 2011, 3-4 policemen from the Railway Police Department of Mudanjiang City drove to Sanjiangou, where Yan Xiuhua lived. They arrested Yan Xiuhua without giving any reason. They found several Falun Dafa books in her home.
Yan Xiuhua's family is not wealthy and they did not bribe the police. She was sentenced to one year of labor re-education. On Oct. 27, 2011, she was taken to the Harbin Women's Forced Labor Camp.
