Validating the Fa in a Leadership Role at Work

(Clearwisdom.net) Before I could study Dafa principles in depth, the persecution started and I was appointed as one of the leaders in a 610 Office. At first I wasn't sure what to do. Then, I quickly learned to send information I gathered from my job to Dafa practitioners. Later, due to my lack of diligence in Fa study, I was watched by the communist officials (I did not know it at the time). They set a trap for me. Several years later, in 2003 a service company asked me to serve as their general manager. I told the owner of the company the type of persecution I had experienced and said, “If you are not afraid of being involved with me, I'll take the job.” He replied, “As long as you can make this a profitable company, I have nothing to fear.” Thus, I got the job.

Before I became a practitioner, I was a mid-level manager in a major company. I also worked in a news department for the communist party. In August 1998, when I was inspecting a work unit, one of the workers there offered me the book Zhuan Falun. That's when I became a Falun Gong practitioner.

After studying the book for a month, I understood many principles and resolved many questions in my mind. Unexpectedly, health issues, such as short-sightedness, fecal incontinence, and leg pain disappeared.

However, before I had studied the book in depth, the persecution started and I was appointed a leader in a 610 Office. At first I wasn't sure what to do. Then, I quickly learned how to send information that I gathered in my job to Dafa practitioners. After participating in a meeting planning ways to persecute Dafa, I told the workers in the departments under me not to carry them out. When the supervisors above me came to inspect our work, I refused to cooperate with the persecution. Instead I took every opportunity to tell them the facts about Dafa. During a major meeting of the 610 Office in my city, I did not speak at all. At the end of the meeting, I tried to explain the facts about Dafa to those present.

However, because I was not diligent in my Fa study, Party members began tailing me, tapping my telephone conversations, and setting a trap for me ( I did not know about any of this at the time). In December 2001, I was accused of being a protector and supporter of Dafa. My home and office were ransacked, but no useful evidence was found. I was illegally arrested sent to a detention center anyway. After I was released, I was fired from my job and sent to a work at a low level agency.

The agency didn't have a suitable job for me, and the people there were sympathetic to my situation. Thus, I was free to seek another job. In 2003 a service company offered me the job of general manager. I told the owner about the persecution I had experienced and said, “If you are not afraid of being involved with me, I'll take the job.” He replied, “As long as you can make this a profitable company, I have nothing to fear.” Thus, I got the job.

This company had over 100 workers and had lost over 4 million yuan. When I joined the company, it was losing money. I had no previous experience with service companies. How should I go about turning this company around? I thought: “If an ordinary talented guy can turn things around, then a Dafa practitioner should be able to do the same and more.” Furthermore, I had the Dafa principles and Teacher's guidance to help me. There was nothing I could not accomplish. It was time to show people how a Dafa practitioner could lead a company.

I set up a three-step plan to improve the company: focus on making a profit, pay back our debts, and expand our business. At the time, only the owner and another office worker were available to help me. The rest of the office workers were handling financial matters. Thus, I had to handle almost all matters related to the company, including interviewing and providing training to new workers. However, regardless of how busy I was, I always studied the Fa every day, which proved to be invaluable, because whenever I had a tough problem, it either disappeared or the solution became clear to me after I studied the Fa. Whatever skills I needed to learn to get the job done, I learned quickly. I became able to handle seemingly difficult problems. For all this I was grateful to Teacher. I understood that Teacher had helped me because I acted like a practitioner should.

I was serious about meeting the standards of a practitioner and used the wisdom I gained from studying the Fa to direct my ordinary work. Whenever there was a problem, I checked my own thoughts first. I made sure that I used only positive thoughts to deal with problems and corrected myself as needed.

In dealing with other workers, I treated them as equals instead of subordinates. This was the way I showed them how to do things. I worked from 7 in the morning to 8 at night year round and visited the more than 30 sites our company had. Thus, I became familiar with every part of the company and was respected by the workers. Some staff said, “Dafa practitioners are good people.” I used my visits to tell the workers about Dafa and to advise them to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its two associated organizations.

When training new workers, I told them about the universal principle “Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with retribution." I also told them the difference between traditional Chinese culture and the communist party culture. I used what I learned from the Fa to educate those workers.

When dealing with people outside of our company, I tried to be nice to all of them. I refused to take any gifts from them and declined all invitations to be wined and dined. When people wanted to pay me a bonus for helping them out, I declined that also. When dealing with my superiors, I didn't use bribery or other unscrupulous things that other people did. I took every opportunity to explain the facts about Dafa and told people why they needed to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. Everyone that came in contact with me knew that I was a Dafa practitioner. Some of them said that our society would be great if everyone were like me.

Over the years I have set up a workable system for our company. It is an adaptive system of management that can be adjusted to accord with the current conditions. Indicators were set up to provide direction for management, and our company has become a leader within the industry. We are now in an expansion mode and employ approximately 800 workers. Our company is growing every year. I know this is because of my faith in Teacher and Dafa, and such success is a manifestation of the power of practicing Dafa.
