(Clearwisdom.net) One of the excuses that the old forces uses to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners is that we are not mature enough, and they thus need to temper us through severe persecution until we are mature. Such vicious persecution has lasted for so long. Has this happened because practitioners are not mature? If each of us can examine him or herself according to the requirements of the Fa, we can become mature and reduce the interference to Teacher’s Fa rectification.

Then what is maturity? In ordinary society, a mature person is a responsible person. I enlightened that true maturity for a practitioner is being responsible to Dafa, fellow practitioners, and all sentient beings.

Teacher scooped us up from hell and taught us the magnificent law of the universe. He gave us precious Faluns, other mechanisms to help us cultivate, and numerous other gifts. These are what countless Buddhas, Daos, and Gods in heaven want the most but are not able to obtain! Meanwhile, we are given great responsibilities in assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa and fulfill the vows we made in ages past. Only when we become responsible will we deserve what Teacher has given us and become the Buddhas, Daos, and Gods in the new universe.

Teacher said:

“For cultivators, though, when it comes to raising the requirement on your xinxing and letting go of your attachments, there's absolutely no wiggle room, and the standard can absolutely not be lowered, because we need to be responsible to the future, and to the cosmos and the sentient beings of the future. Many Dafa disciples will achieve the status of gigantic beings in the future, and they will encompass many sentient beings, even boundless beings. So if your standard is lowered, then that level of the cosmos won't last long and that level of the firmament won't last long, so you have to meet the standard.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003”)

Because we shoulder responsibilities that are related to the safety of the future universe, the standard for us is very high. The old forces also hold onto this. Holding onto their warped purpose and notions, the old forces use destructive tribulations to “test” practitioners.

Although we do not recognize the legitimacy of the persecution by the old forces, we are still required to become mature in Dafa cultivation. If all practitioners became mature, the old forces would have no excuse to persecute us. There would no longer be a reason for their existence.

The biggest obstacle is our human notions. Are we not walking the path to Godhood? We should measure ourselves with high standards. As Falun Dafa cultivators, we cannot slack off and view ourselves as ordinary people.

In the closing of Zhuan Falun, Teacher stated:

“So I’ll just say a few things in parting. I hope that in your cultivation that lies ahead you’ll go about things as a practitioner and truly keep cultivating.”

Since Teacher has specifically set the requirements, we should pay close attention. We need to treat ourselves as practitioners at all times and in all situations. Then, we will become mature and will be able to shoulder the magnificent responsibilities that the history has bestowed on us.
