Western Practitioner: Wiping Away the Dust

March 23, 2011

(Clearwisdom.net) Sometimes it is easy to think that we are battling the old forces, waging war against the old forces, etc. I just realized this is how humans think of things; it is the mentality humans have when fighting their enemies. Instead, Master has always asked us to negate them and eradicate them.

Master said,

"...his old master was upset and began to make trouble for me, persisting to make trouble for me everyday. I am a person who dislikes fighting with others, and neither was it worth a fight with him. Whenever he brought some bad things upon me, I would just clear them up. Afterwards, I would resume my lecturing." (Zhuan Falun)

Who is going to fight with the old forces? Even if they could, they're not worthy of fighting Dafa disciples. Neither should Dafa disciples lower themselves to "fight."

I also noticed some faint elements of competitiveness in my sending forth righteous thoughts and saving sentient beings, as if I was competing with the old forces over sentient beings' fate. I just realized there is no need to think that we have to compete with them over anything. The cosmos belongs to Dafa, not to them. They're simply old dust that needs to be swept away.

The difference between the two now seems clearer to me: the outcome of a battle is always uncertain, whereas cleaning up is a detached affair with the outcome predetermined: a cleaned up place.

Seeing sending righteous thoughts more as a detached clearing out rather than an emotionally charged battle feels to me to be more effective and more righteous.
