(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Shunzhi and Ms. Zhang Jinyu were arrested in May 2008, illegally sentenced to forced labor, and detained in Zhongba Forced Labor Camp in Qingzhen. Ms. Wang refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong and was beaten.
On May 14, 2008, when the two practitioners were clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at Dawan Railway Station in Liupanshui, they were reported by a student's parents, arrested, and taken to the Dawan Police Station. The following day they were taken to the National Security Bureau in the Zhongshan District and detained for 15 days. When their family members went to pick them up at the end of that time, they were informed that the practitioners had each been sentenced to one year of forced labor.
When they delivered the forced labor sentence, the National Security staff tried to deceive Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang, telling them that if they signed the decision, they would be released. Ms. Zhang was timid and signed without looking at it. Ms. Wang saw that it was a forced labor sentence, and she refused to sign. Four young National Security Bureau agents beat her. After the women were sent to Zhongba Forced Labor Camp in Qingzhen, the buns they were given to eat were laced with unidentified drugs. This went on for a week. They recalled that the buns had a strange odor and their heads became numb when they consumed the buns. They remembered Master’s Fa lectures that they had memorized. They were ordered to stand for a long period of time. If they did not give up their belief in Falun Gong and sign the three statements, they were not allowed to sit down or eat. They were only allowed to sleep for three hours a day. Ms. Zhang Jinyu was old and her legs quickly swelled. She signed the three statements against her will and was forced to labor every day.
Ms. Wang Shunzhi did not follow any of these orders and so she was tortured. Her weight dropped 35 kilograms in one year.
Demonstration: The death bed torture
Ms. Wang did not get to wear socks or shoes for the entire year she was detained at Zhongba Women's Forced Labor Camp. In the wintertime, a convicted drug offender who monitored her wore a cotton jacket and quilted wrap, whereas Wang Shunzhi had only a shirt and pants. She was not provided with toilet tissue for a year and had to use her hand to clean herself. Then she could only wash her hand with cold water. She was not allowed to use the toilet and had to use a food container to collect her urine and feces. After washing the container she had to use it to hold food. The guards were very cruel and they dipped toilet tissue in excrement and wiped it on Ms. Wang's mouth. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and as a result she was put on the death bed for one month, during which time she had to relieve herself on the bed. When she was force-fed, her nose was so swollen that the tube could not be inserted. The forced labor camp was afraid that she would die, so they took her off the death bed.
One time, they beat her so badly that they broke her arm. They also hit her face. The guards feared that others would see her face, so they did not take her to clinic to get cast on her broken arm. Five or six days later when the bruises on her face had diminished a little, they took her to the clinic to have a cast put on. They charged her 600 yuan for the cast. Ms. Wang was not allowed to take a shower for one year, and dead skin just fell off her. She was only given some rice the size of an egg and some thin soup with two pieces of radish floating in it. She was treated like this until the final month. She had become so emaciated that the guards feared that people outside the prison would be appalled at how she had changed, so they increased it to a bowl of rice.

One time, Ms. Wang was reciting Hong Yin under the bedcovers, and guard Wen Guifang noticed. He tied her up while she was sitting, then he and another guard jumped and stomped on her feet. It hurt so much that she screamed. Her legs turned blue and she could barely walk for a while.
Those that participated in persecuting Ms. Wang Shunzhi include: Gu Xinying, team head of Xinshou team at fourth division in Zhongba forced labor camp; Jiao Xia, vice team head; and guards Yuan Fang and Wen Guifang.
