The six practitioners were illegally arrested and detained at Beichuan Detention Center. Mr. Yin was later transferred to An County Detention Center. The police interrogated him and physically abused him, causing harm to his physical and mental health.
The Beichuan County Court secretly put the six practitioners on trial on January 23, 2006. Mr. Yin was sentenced to an eight-year prison term. He is still being held in Deyang Prison and is forced to do hard labor in the prison clothing factory.
Mr. Yin has been detained several times since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. He went to Beijing twice, trying to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested and detained by officers from the An County Police Department. He had to leave home and went to Mianyang to do some odd jobs to make a living. He was arrested in Mianyang in 2000 and later sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was held in Xinhua Forced Labor Camp during the term. He was tortured by the guards and the inmates since he refused to renounce Falun Gong, and was forced to work long hours baking bricks. The labor camp refused to release him when he completed his prison sentence, and extended his term by another three months. After he was released, he went to Mianyang and had been working there.
His parents are in their eighties and are without anyone to take care of them.
