(Clearwisdom.net) Led by Bao Rui, head of Heilongjiang Women's Prison; head of the 610 Office Zou Qi; 610 Office agents Li Hongmei and Xu Bo; and prison official Tao Shuping began a thorough investigation of all the Falun Gong practitioners in the prison on February 14 and 15, 2011. Practitioners' belongings were searched and many items were confiscated. Several days later, the persecution intensified.
Heilongjiang Women's Prison in Harbin City
Wang Yali, a team leader from the 2nd ward of the prison, orchestrated this new, intense persecution of practitioners on February 24. Her brutal acts of persecution have been exposed several times on the Clearwisdom website. She first ordered practitioners not to make any contact or speak with each other. Inmates assigned to monitor them were told to report practitioners' every word and action, even including when they go to the restroom.
Ms. Dong Lingui, approximately 70 years old, has been illegally detained in Harbin for nine years. Due to the intensified persecution, she is in critical condition. She has a heart condition and her blood pressure is very high. Her eyes are dull and lifeless, her face is badly swollen, and she has become emaciated.
Just before the 2011 Chinese New Year, Wang Yali and deputy team leader Chen Dongyue were transferred to the 2nd ward at the same time. Along with inmate Wang Fengchun, they severely persecuted practitioners in the 2nd ward. These two team leaders are known for being very cruel, and they terrorized practitioners both mentally and physically everyday.
Ms. Lu Yinghua became extremely emaciated in a very short time, as she was one of Wang Yali primary targets. Ms. Lu began learning Falun Gong in prison, and many others knew that she had benefited greatly from the practice. She was steadfast in her belief and lived firmly by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Wang Yali specifically chose inmate Gao Yanping to torture Ms. Lu. As a result, she became very thin and suffered several heart attacks. When Ms. Lu was studying the Fa, guard Chen Dongyue and Hu Yunan burst into her cell and confiscated her hand-written copy of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Lu was so distressed that she suffered a major heart attack.
Gao Yanping and several other inmates, who were there as ordered by Chen Dongyue, wrapped Ms. Lu up in a blanket and took her downstairs. They intentionally left her on the floor for a long time, as the cold wind passed through the corridor. The deputy team leader, Dong Yan, and several inmates then took her to the hospital. Dong Yan told the prison doctor that Ms. Lu did not have a heart problem, and they took her back to the ward. Gao Yanping knew Ms. Lu's heart condition was very serious, but still she continued to mentally torture her. Practitioners Liu Shufen and Zhang Dexiang also suffered from mental torture.
At noon on March 11, Bao Rui, Zou Qi, Li Hongmei, Xu Bo, and others inspected all the practitioners in the various wards. Bao Rui had already searched us on February 24. We were forced to wear the prison uniform and sit side by side on the ground without moving. Ms. Yan Chunling did not cooperate with the guards, and was put in solitary confinement by Wang Yali. That room was bitterly cold during the winter. At 12:40 p.m. Ms. Yan was forcibly removed by Dong Yan, Chen Dongyue, Hu Yunan, Huang Jing, Wang Jingbo, Zhang Quan, and inmates Wang Fengchun and Jiao Yanxia.
When Ms. Yan shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” as she was taken down the corridor, Wang Fengchun slapped her twice in the face, but Ms. Yan did not stop shouting, “Falun Dafa is good!” A male guard from the detention team soon came to our ward to make sure no one else would shout or do something similar. If any practitioner did, he would immediately take them to the small, solitary confinement room.
When Ms. Yan was in solitary confinement, her clothes were all stripped off, and the inmates put a prison uniform on her. This uniform was specifically for solitary confinement, and everyone sent there would have to wear it. It was very filthy, as many people had worn it before. Guard Zhang Chunhua, whose brutal behavior has also been reported on the Clearwisdom website, stood there holding a fully charged electric baton.
The prison uniform was made of very thin material, and the room was very dark and cold. Zhang Chunhua told Dong Yan not to collect her when her sentence was due to end and said, “We will automatically extend her term and keep her here.”
The prison's policy is that detention in the small solitary room should not exceed 15 days. Tao Shuping criticized Dong Yan, saying that the persecution tactics used in the 2nd ward were not successful enough. Practitioners in the ward went to Dong Yan several times to ask for Ms. Yan to be released from solitary confinement. Dong Yan said their pleas were of little use, as Bao Rui and Wang Yali were responsible for it, and their intent was to intensify the persecution.
Inmates designated by Wang Yali forced all of the practitioners to wear the prison uniforms. Dong Yan, Chen Dongyue, Hu Yunan, and Wang Yali come to our ward every day to check on practitioners.
Ms. Yan is still being detained in solitary confinement, being mentally and physically tortured.
