(Clearwisdom.net) The following facts pertain to the persecution of practitioners in Beichuan County, Sichuan Province between 2000 and 2009.
In August 2000, practitioners Tan Wanquan, Jiang Jifang, Jiang Jirong, Qiu Zhengdi and Deng Xiuqiong were reported to the police by Tan Wanquan's wife, while they were watching Teacher's lecture video in Qiu Zhengdi's home. Officers searched these four families' homes and arrested the above practitioners. Qiu Zhengdi was detained for 15 days, Jiang Jifang for 10 days, and Jiang Jirong and Deng Xiuqiong for 5 days. Qiu Zhengdi, Jiang Jirong and Jiang Jifang were demoted at work, and their salaries were decreased.
At the end of December 2000, fourteen practitioners including one student, arrived in Beijing. Teng Hongbin, Jia Degui, Mu Zhitai and Xiao Tairong were arrested after they arrived, and then were transferred to the Beichuan Detention Center. The remaining nine practitioners were arrested when they returned to Beichuan, except for the student. The following 13 practitioners received forced labor camp sentences: Qiu Zhengdi for three years and six months, Tan Wanquan for two years, and Jiang Jifang for one year. The remaining practitioners were detained for one month and then had 2,000 to 5,000 yuan extorted from each of them by government officials.
In January 2001, two practitioners in Tongkou Village, Beichuan County were arrested while distributing informational materials about Falun Dafa, and were then held at the Beichuan Detention Center.
In 2001, personnel involved in persecuting practitioners included Liu Wenbang, party secretary (now the party secretary in Zhitong County); Liu Fahui, secretary of the political and judiciary committee (deceased), Li Zonglun, head of the local Public Security Bureau (transferred to the Public Security Bureau in Mianyang) and Ying Wanjin, Liu Guo, Li Ping and Chen Yi, police officers from the Domestic Security Division.
In May 2003, practitioner Hong Bin was sentenced to two years of forced labor for distributing informational materials about Falun Dafa. In 2004, practitioners Tan Wanquan and Jia Degui were also sentenced to two years of forced labor for distributing informational materials.
In 2005, practitioners Zhang Chunbao, Feng Wei, Yin Huanjie, Gao Yan, Yue Bin, Ming Zhu, Cui Xiaoping and Xie Xinkai from Mianyang were arrested in Beichuan. Mu Zhiquan was arrested at home and detained for one year, and then sentenced to eight years of forced labor. People involved in this persecution included Zhao Qi, Beichuan party secretary (transferred to Mianyang); Jiang Xi, secretary of the political and judiciary committee (transferred to An County); Pu Fangfang, head of the Public Security Bureau (transferred to Mianyang); Long Chengming, head of the 610 Office; and Pu Jianguo, Deng Dachang and Tang (last name), officers from the Domestic Security Division.
Prior to the huge earthquake in 2008, practitioners from An County, Jiangyou County and Mianyang went to Beichuan County to distribute informational materials about Falun Dafa. Most of them were arrested and persecuted by Beichuan Chinese Communist Party CCP personnel. Their cases are under investigation.
In August 2009, practitioners Jiang Jifang and Jiang Jirong were arrested while distributing informational materials in the Gaoxin District of Mianyang. Jiang Jifang was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and Jiang Jirong was detained for seven days. People involved in their persecution included officials from the Mianyang Domestic Security Division, and Liu Xiaodong and Tang Xiaolong, police officers from the Gaoxin District Domestic Security Division.
In September 2009, practitioner Hong Bin was arrested while distributing Falun Dafa materials, and then illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor.
