(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Xue Jingjing, and I live on Dongguan Street, Xingcheng, Liaoning Province. On March 29, 2011, my family was having dinner when three strangers suddenly broke into our home. They claimed that my mother was a "fugitive", and without presenting any legal documents, they attempted to illegally arrest her. My father and I resisted them, and finally drove them out of our house. Upon hearing this news, several relatives including my uncle came to my home. Soon after, the three intruders called for back up, and over twenty officers arrived in over a dozen police vehicles, surrounding my home. Led by police department legal section chief Ning Yongjin, the police broke down our door and forcibly took my mother away. My father and uncle argued with them, but they were also arrested. Within three hours, three members of my family were taken.
Domestic Security Division officials charged my mother with “Arrest for posting a Falun Gong flyer.” This was a false charge, since she was illegally arrested at home. The police demonstrated irresponsible behavior by fabricating such a lie.
Regarding my mother, our entire family would like to sincerely thank Falun Gong and its Teacher. Mother was quite sick when she was very young. She suffered from several diseases, and lost consciousness whenever she fell ill. Back then, I remembered that her eyes were always closed while she lay in bed. I was too young to understand the meaning of illness, so I cried all day long trying to get her to accompany me. I was afraid that she might not open her eyes if I didn't wake her up. Traditional Chinese, western and folk medicine were ineffective. When she felt slightly better, she always knitted a sweater for me. When I was in my early teens, she had several boxes of sweaters ready for me to wear and grow into. She told me that if she died, she didn't want me to be cold, and my aunts could help me to make the sweaters' sleeves longer. After listening to her, I cried.
Later, my mother started practicing Falun Gong. She conducted herself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her illnesses disappeared and she completely recovered. Since then, our family has experienced a happy life. My mother took care of my father and me – just like other mothers supported their families. My home was full of joy and happiness those days; however, our happiness ended on the evening of March 29.
My mother was accused of a “crime,” so I wanted to know which law she'd broken. I consulted with some famous lawyers inside and outside of China, who confirmed that practicing Falun Gong was legal. Articles 3 and 4 of “The Constitution of the People's Republic of China” state: “One has not committed a crime if that crime has not been defined on paper.” Thoughts do not constitute a crime. Punishment is only required for cases of misconduct. This is a basic principle of law. In other words, no matter what the thoughts and beliefs of a citizen, he can not be charged with a crime, as long as the citizen doesn't harm others. My mother practiced Falun Gong, which didn't cause harm to others, and there is no law prohibiting my mother from practicing Falun Gong.
On the contrary, Xingcheng Domestic Security Division officers broke into our home without providing any legal documents, therefore, their actions constituted the crime of intruding into a citizen's residence. They illegally arrested my mother, therefore they committed the crime of kidnapping. They illegally confiscated my family's belongings without a record or receipt listing the items they'd taken, therefore, they committed the crime of robbery. They didn't provide an arrest warrant when they took my mother, therefore, they broke the law when they illegally arrested her. When my mother was in extremely weak condition, they didn't provide her with medical treatment, therefore, they violated her human rights and trampled on civilians' personal freedom.
I wanted to expose the persecution imposed on my family, the suffering they've endured, and seek your support and encouragement. Let us work together for my mother's release from detention, and bring her home.
