(Clearwisdom.net) One of my relatives is the mayor of a small town. He told me recently about a conversation he had with a newly-appointed police chief in his office. For safety reasons, all names and locations have been changed.
The police chief from Fengyuan Town Police Station had received karmic retribution for the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. He was killed in a car accident on his way home from a vacation. The young Mr. Zheng was temporarily appointed to the position.
The new police chief knew nothing about the security status of this small town. He visited the mayor and said, “To celebrate the 90th anniversary of our party, the superiors assigned our unit to arrest two Falun Gong practitioners. Since I am new here, I need your advice regarding who the targets should be.” He then showed the mayor a list of Dafa practitioners.
After seriously looking at the name list, my relative was silent for a while. He then got up from his chair to close the door, poured two cups of tea, lit cigarettes for both of them and said hesitatingly, “Here they go again. Everyone on this list are good citizens. Who would be so relentless as to disturb their peaceful lives again?” The new police chief felt that there must be some stories behind the names. He asked the mayor to tell him some. Ms. Zhang Lianmei from Lijia Village is a language teacher at a middle school. Every student of hers behaved well and had good grades. All the parents liked her. She has taught students in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She has always voluntarily helped in all school activities or inspections. The school principal told our local party secretary, his classmate, that she is an important asset of the school and asked him to leave her alone.
Ms. Han Xia is my aunt's third daughter-in-law. My aunt was in her eighties. During the period that my aunt was bedridden, Ms. Han was the only one, among her five daughters-in-law, to take care of her until her death. My aunt always praised Dafa and said Dafa was good. Ms. Han has become the quintessential daughter-in-law in town. Her filial piety was widely spread in our area and became a famous one among the Falun Gong stories.
After listening to these stories, the new police chief said, “I did not expect to learn that everyone on the list is a good person. It is fortunate to know that before a mistake is made.” The mayor continued after a sip of tea.
Ms. Bao Rong is a middle-aged business woman. She became more sincere, friendly, and generous after she began practicing cultivation. Her daughter was tortured to death because of her steadfast cultivation and truth clarification. Her family knows some powerful officers and lawyers, who helped her bring this case to the court in Beijing. She was reportedly compensated more than 100,000 yuan for her loss. In addition, the police were also instructed not to bother her again. Everyone knew that the compensation was a coverup for their wrongdoing.

We will have a clear conscience by not arresting Dafa practitioners.” The mayor replied, “It is great that you have good enlightenment at such a young age. It is more important to protect good citizens than to carry out wrongful assignments. Let's keep our conversations between ourselves. In my opinion, arresting practitioners means depriving them of living.”
I am happy for them (after hearing about the conversation). It is a blessing that both men recognized the nature of the evil party, the truth about Dafa, and the benevolence of Dafa disciples. They have kept themselves safe from the corruption of this wicked party. It was really a glimmer of light in the dark.
