(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, my cultivation state wasn't optimal and I ran into many conflicts; several attachments then surfaced. We hold a Fa study group in my home, and many issues are addressed. I complained about several things and thought that other practitioners weren't cultivating their speech or allowing others to criticize them. They also caused trouble for others and did things based solely on their own opinions. They wouldn't listen to when others tried to share, but instead complained about those comments. At first, I wanted to use a human approach to resolve these problems, by preventing them from attending Fa study in my home. My mother, who is also a practitioner, asked me to look inward. I was agitated, because I didn't want anyone to say negative things about me and thought I would probably end up arguing with them. My mother told me to listen to Teacher, not look outward, but instead see the positive in their comments. After I thought about it, I realized that this was so true—practitioners who look normal in appearance all had their shining points and their cultivated sides. I will present a few examples to illustrate this.
Practitioner A from our Fa study group is in her 60s but never attended school so she couldn't read. Previously when we studied the Fa together, she could only hold her book and follow us while we read. Our Fa study session is at night, so sometimes we get sleepy, especially when listening to others read. However, this senior practitioner was never sleepy and never slacked off on Fa study. Recently, she began reading the Falun Dafa teachings with us. She explained that she'd learned how to read because of Teacher and Dafa.
Practitioner B lives in a village a good distance away from us. She rides her bicycle across a river every evening in order to attend our Fa study. She is very busy working in her fields daily, then comes to our Fa study group. She never misses our sessions, and her strength of character touchs us all.
Local practitioner C is in her 70s, and is also our coordinator. She is a solid cultivator and has overcome all kinds of difficulties to assist practitioners. She always treats others' affairs as her own. She keeps up with her Fa study, sends righteous thoughts and clarifies the facts. She managed to find those practitioners who stopped practicing after the persecution and helped them to return to our Fa study group. Everyone cultivates diligently and we elevate as a group.
Thinking back on these events, it is true that every practitioner has a side that is not afraid of exposing his or her problems, thereby cultivating solidly. Within this cultivation environment, I wasn't agitated and began to calm down. Looking inward, I found that my sense of unfairness came from my attachment to fear, a competitive mentality, jealousy and not wanting to be criticized—it all came down to my attachments. I finally understood that the key to advancement was to cultivate myself better—not to point fingers at others.
Thank you, Teacher!
