(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in eight provinces. In this report, nine practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xinlan Unlawfully Arrested
Agents from the Zelin Police Station at the Ezhou Police Department arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xinlan on July 9, 2011, for encouraging people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. She is now in the Ezhou Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Xiuqin Arrested
Police seized Ms.Yang Xiuqin, around 70 years old, from West Unit 2, Tiantongyuan, the Changping District, from her home on the afternoon of July 4, 2011. Her personal belongings, including the book Zhuan Falun and CDs were confiscated. Ms. Yang is now in the Nankou Detention Center in the Changping District.

3. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Arrest of Several Practitioners
Officials from Xigao Township government, the 610 Office, and the local government in Guanghan nabbed Mr. Liu Mingde, Ms. Jiang Zhixiu, and Ms. Dai Quanzhen on June 20, 2011, and Ms. Zhao Tingzhen on July 4th. Ms. Jiang Zhixiu is now back home. The other three practitioners are currently incarcerated in the Hexing Brainwashing Center.
4. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tan Chunmin Taken Into Custody
Mr. Tan Chunmin from Lichun Town in Pengzhou City went to a local market in Tanjiachang on the morning of July 11. Police took her away her as she was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Guanghan, Sichuan Province] Agents from the Huanyuancun Police Station in Xinfeng Town Seized Ms. Wu Suying on July 6, 2011
6. [Kunming, Yunnan Province] Mr. Zhou Wei and Ms. Xie Na Arrested
Mr. Zhou Wei from Kunming was framed for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to colleagues on June 25, 2011. More than ten police officers searched his home on the morning of July 2 and took away Falun Gong informational materials. Mr. Zhou and Ms. Xie were also taken away. Ms. Xie was later released because she is pregnant, but Mr. Zhou is still in the police station.
7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Aijun Persecuted
Guandu Town police in Kunming broke into Mr. Li Aijun's home on the morning of July 5, 2011. They ransacked his home and confiscated his computer, printer, and other personal belongings and cash. When he appeared to be critically ill, Mr. Li was taken to Guangzhou Hospital, examined, and sent home after the evildoers extorted over 10,000 yuan from his family.
8. [Pu'er City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhang Fengqin Persecuted
Ms. Zhang Fengqin, 34, an officer from the Pu'er City Police Department, shouted, “Quit the CCP for your own safety” at a celebration party on July 1, 2011. She was seriously persecuted as a result. Police department agents ransacked her place and took away her copy of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Zhang was taken to the detention center for interrogation. The police violently attacked her genitalia, causing heavy bleeding. She repeatedly lost consciousness during the torture.
9. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Gong Chuandi Suffers from Police Persecution
Two plainclothes police agents arrested Ms. Gong Chuandi, from Qingming Street, Luoyang City, on June 30, 2011, for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. They took her to the police station. The police searched her home and confiscated her computer and printer.
10. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ding Zhengyu Arrested
Ms. Ding Zhengyu, in her 60s, is of Korean nationality. She was arrested at home. Participating in the arrest on July 6, 2011 were Liu Hong and other officers from the Domestic Security Division of the local police department.
11. [Ningbo, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xiafen Seized
Ms. Zhang Xiafen, about 65, from the Haishu District, Ningbo, was arrested in late May by Domestic Security agents. She is currently in the Ningbo Detention Center.
12. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Dai Xianglan Arrested
Police arrested Ms. Dai Xianglan from Wuxi at her home on June 30, 2011, and took her to the Wuxi Brainwashing Center.
13. [Yancheng, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yan Lin and Ms. Wang Cuiying Arrested
On July 1, 2011, staff from the 610 Office in the Yandu District arrested Ms. Yan Lin with the ruse of “having a chat.” Ms. Yan Lin is now detained in the Wanlong Hotel in Yancheng for coercive brainwashing.
Sixty-eight-year-old Ms. Wang Cuiying is also being held there.
14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Zhiqun Illegally Incarcerated, Detained in the Sichuan Women's Prison
15. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Xiangming and His Wife Persecuted, Forced to Become Homeless
Agents from the Jitai Police Station in Shouguang harassed Mr. Meng Xiangming's family on July 1, 2011, and tried to arrest Mr. Meng and his wife, Ms. Sun Yufang. The older couple decided to leave home to avoid further persecution.
The couple has suffered numerous incidents of persecution. On June 7, 2006, Ms. Sun Yufang, Mr. Meng Fanliang, and Ms. Zhang Yuexiang's homes were ransacked, Ms. Sun and Mr. Meng Fanliang were arrested, and Mr. Meng was robbed of 700 cash. Because they showed symptoms of high blood pressure during a physical exam, they were sent home that same day. In August 2006 Domestic Security Police in Shouguang again arrested Ms. Sun and sent her to the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp for three years.
Mr. Meng Xiangming's house was searched and ransacked on October 24, 2007. He was arrested and taken to the Jitai Police Station where he was locked in a cage for two days. He was released in the afternoon after having 2,000 yuan extorted from him the day before. Ten days later, five Jitai Police Station agents went to the greenhouse where Mr. Meng was working. They handcuffed him and took him away. A month later, Mr. Meng was sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for two years.
Around January 15, 2010 (Chinese calendar), Mr. Meng Xiangming was seized and taken to the “Shouguang Law Training Center” (a brainwashing center) and bound to a metal chair for five days before he was released.
In mid-November 2010, Mr. Meng Fanliang, Mr. Meng Xiangming, Ms. Sun, and Ms. Li Ailing were arrested and taken to the “Shouguang Law Training Center” (a brainwashing center) and were bound to metal chairs for six days. They were further held in a detention center for over 30 days before being released.

16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yujing Sentenced to Three-Year Imprisonment
On May 6, 2011, Jinan Central District Court officials put Ms. Liu Yujing on trial. They announced the results on May 24, 2011, sentencing her to three years' imprisonment.
