(Clearwisdom.net) At around 9 a.m., on June 21, 2011, Xinjin County 610 Office Chair Wang Feng and vie other officers barged into Ms. Li Guangyan's home, arrested her, and took her to the Caiwan Brainwashing Center. Ms. Li was detained in a room by herself, except for two assistants (hired from the countryside and trained by the center) who watched her 24 hours a day. They did not allow her out of the room or to have any visitors.
Ms. Li's food was all brought to her by the assistants. Only half an hour after her first meal, she was in excruciating pain: her heart beat rapidly and felt like it was on fire, and her head felt bloated, as if it were going to explode. Her face swelled, her mouth and face turned dark, and her whole body felt soft and weak.
Ms. Li has been arrested more than 10 times since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, and she was detained in Xinjin Brainwashing Center before. She knew that her reaction after lunch had to have been caused by drugs in her food and that the brainwashing center authorities were trying to force her to accept the brainwashing while her mind was not clear. Many fellow practitioners were poisoned to death from such drugs, or disabled, such as Ms. Xie Deqing (see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2009/6/29/108683.html)
While she was in this extremely painful condition, the two assistants tried hard to force her to write a statement renouncing her faith. She can remember this happening at least four times during those ten-plus days. The assistants were too scared to sleep in the room when they saw her in such dire condition. Her blood pressure was high, about 220. The center authorities took her to the Xinjin County Hospital one night, and her blood pressure was still 220 mm. They feared being held responsible for her life and notified her employer to pick her up on July 6, 2011.
Several days after she returned home, Ms. Li's swollen face had mostly recovered, but the drug was still acting inside her body. Her hands hurt, and she lacks energy. Her hearing has obviously decreased, as people must speak directly into her ears for her to hear anything.
