(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Fuling has been detained in the Haidian Detention Center since being arrested on June 25, 2010. Representing herself, she pled “not guilty” in the Haidian Court on March 21, 2011. The prosecuting attorney was Chen Lei, with Judge You Tao presiding.
Ms. Wang's children have been denied visits and were not given any information by the authorities after her trial. They are asking for help online. The following statements were abstracted from their online text:
My mother, Ms. Wang Fuling, 64, was born in Beijing. The Haidian Court put her on trial on March 21, 2011. The trail lasted about an hour.
The judge claimed that my mother put seven self-adhesive notes on light poles in a neighborhood in Beijing on June 25, 2010. Each note was two centimeters long and five millimeters wide. The notes read, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is good.” Because her defense lawyer was prohibited from making a not guilty plea on her behalf, she pled “not guilty” for herself.
We, as children of the detained, have the following questions and hope that friends online who know about the legal process will provide answers.
Question 1: From June 2010 to her trial on March 21, 2011, she was detained for seven months. Was this amount of time in detention time longer than normal or longer than legally allowed?
Question 2: Since the trial on March 21, three months have passed and my family has not received any notification, court decision, or any other information from the authorities. Nor have we been allowed to visit the detained. Is this normal? On the date of the trial, the defense lawyer told us that we would hear results within 15 to 20 days. So far, we have not heard anything.
Question 3: As the children of the detained, what rights do we have? Do we have a legal right to know our mother's situation?
My mother is a kind person and all she did was post small stickers that harmed no one. I love her for she is our dearest mother. “Mom, we are waiting to see you back home!”
