Examples of How Many Practitioners' Families Have Begun to Protect Falun Gong from Persecution

Aug. 2, 2011 |   By a practitioner from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Nowadays more and more people have come to understand the facts about Falun Gong and see the odious core of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP ) in the light of truth. This is particularly so for the families of Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners' families have suffered much from the persecution, as have the practitioners themselves. But upon waking up about Falun Gong they lend valuable support to practitioners in resistance of the persecution and, thereby, plow remarkable paths to behold. What follow are some stories from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, with minor omissions of names and exact location for the security of those involved.

1. Police Refuted When Trying to Arrest Practitioners

On a certain sensitive day some local police officers went to the home of a practitioner to prevent her from going to appeal for Falun Gong. The practitioner's husband, a governmental official, gave them a stern rebuke: “This is not the job that is delegated of you. You should stand in the way of villains, but you are now harassing innocent people. What business do you have to come to my home?” The police officers left tongue-tied in shame and never returned again, other than come to monitor her in the neighborhood.

Another case concerns a practitioner who had been sentenced to forced labor and held in a brainwashing center. When some police officers from the local 610 office came to arrest her and take her to the brainwashing center again her husband refused to open the door for them. When the officers knocked at the door he opened the inner door and said through the anti-theft door, “She has not done anything wrong. Why you bother to harass her? Let me tell you, I will not open the door to let you in today, and you will face the fight of your life if you do break in.” The officers were deterred by his words, but guarded the doorway until nightfall, at which time they left in low spirits.

Another case concerns a practitioner's husband who is a senior engineer at a research institute; a noble man. He was very much at odds with the constant visits from CCP officials to his wife, which he saw as an imposition on his daily life. One day, the officials came again, asking if any Falun Gong books were hidden in his home. He protested in an austere tone: “Yes, they are right here. So what? Dare you come again? Beware I will beat you with my rod.” The officials, overwhelmed by his demeanor, ran away and never returned.

Another case concerns a practitioner who goes regularly to talk to people and distribute Falun Gong materials every afternoon. One day, long after she had gone out, she was still not home for supper. Her husband thought that she had gone to visit another practitioner. At 10pm she was still not home and her husband realized that she might have been arrested. As a precaution he hid all the Falun Gong books and materials in their home in a safe place. At 11pm, just after he finished hiding the materials, some police officers came knocking at the door. He refused to let them in, so the police began to bang on the door and cause quite a disturbance. Lest his neighbors be disturbed, he opened the door and let the officers in. At the time he noticed his wife's mobile phone was sitting out so he picked it up and put it in his pocket when the police were not looking. In the end the police left, finding no Falun Gong materials as “evidence” against his wife.

Our last example occurred the day one practitioner was visited by two other practitioners. Some police came to search her home all of a sudden, before they could hide the Falun Gong materials. Seeing the materials on the bed, the practitioner's husband stuffed them into his pocket when the police were not watching. He had two big pockets in his coat stuffed to the brim, but the police did not notice him because it was winter and they knew he was not a practitioner. Finding nothing, the police said: “Why, I just saw them reading Falun Gong materials?” When the police left they took out the materials from her husband's pockets and hid them safely. Right when they finished doing so, the police suddenly came back again, but found nothing again. It came to their knowledge later that the police had been watching the practitioner with binoculars from the building across the road.

2. Defending Their Relatives and Helping Others to Understand Falun Gong and the Persecution

A practitioner had been arrested many times and led a difficult life, upsetting her husband. After learning this, some local practitioners would go to soften his impressions, lend him money, and talk to him about the true situation of persecution and the practice. When his wife was released, she cared for her husband very much, which resolved his misgivings. He did not confess his attitude toward Falun Gong at home, but when he was confronted by police who came to arrest his wife he held a strong position: “Falun Gong is truly good. Have you ever considered our living conditions when you arrested and detained her? Only her fellow practitioners truly care for me and help me. I used to have misgivings, but now I know that Falun Gong is good.” The police simply could not find words to answer him.

Another case involves a practitioner who had been arrested many times and her family was constantly harassed and could not lead a normal life. Her husband knew Falun Gong was good but never spoke of this to her. One day he heard some people talking ill about Falun Gong in the street as he passed on his bicycle. He stopped and argued with the people, saying that Falun Gong is good and telling them the facts about Falun Gong. When he was home he told his wife joyously about what had happened. She praised him for this and made him very happy.

Our next example concerns a practitioner who had been arrested many times. Each time she was arrested, her husband would fearlessly go to the police to demand her release. One time when his wife and some local practitioners were arrested, he went to the local residential committee and said to the chief: “Tell me what bad things have those Falun Gong practitioners done to the people and the community. I will record them, compose an article, and publish it in the newspaper. I will also ask some reporters to come interview you so that people will be informed that they will be sent to prison if they do anything bad, just like those Falun Gong practitioners.” While saying so he took out his paper and pen in preparation to take notes. The baffled chief replied: “They actually have done nothing bad....”

The husband of a practitioner helps a lot delivering Dafa materials and messages to other practitioners. When he brought the materials to other practitioners he said: “It is safer for me to come. It is not safe for my wife to come.” He was also willing to lend his hands when she distributed Falun Gong truth clarification materials, saying: “You stay home, and let me do it. You just give me the materials and I will distribute them. You are a Falun Gong practitioner and prone to hazards, so let me do such risky things.” When asked about the risks of being arrested, he said: “Why would they arrest me? I am not a Falun Gong practitioner. I just want to give these materials to people, which the authorities have no right to interfere with.” Furthermore, to prevent harassment from local authorities, he stands guard outside his home when practitioners come to study the Fa and share their cultivation experiences.
