(Clearwisdom.net) Wuling Prison in Changde City, Hunan Province, held a brainwashing session on April 8, 2011, targeted at Falun Gong practitioners who were held in the prison in a move to step up the persecution. Guards locked practitioners and three convicts in a single room. They ate and slept in the same room and were forbidden to step out the door. Normally they are restricted for two months. Nearly a dozen practitioners have already been subjected to this form of persecution.
The practitioners were forced to watch, listen to, and read materials slandering Falun Gong. The room was equipped with a VCD player, television, and many pieces of literature, CDs, and other materials defaming Falun Gong and its founder. Instigated by prison officers, the three regular inmates forced practitioners to listen to, read, and study this information every day. If they disobeyed orders, they would not be allowed to sleep and were beaten, abused, and tortured with handcuffs and other devices. On May 19, practitioner Xiao Hebin was hospitalized for sustained injuries.
From early July to August 2011, cries of agony were often heard coming from the room where Yang Bin and Huang Youjun were detained and often continued until late into the night. The prison inmates who participated in persecuting practitioners were led by Xiang Long, a convicted criminal. Xiang, 26, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for gang rape. In recent years, he has followed the bidding of prison officers in persecuting practitioners.
Prison head Zhang Chengfa, deputy prison head Fu Zhengrong, and deputy head of the education section Nie Songlin are responsible for establishing this brainwashing tactic.
On January 13 and 14, 2011, guards Liu Guisheng, Leng Jiashu, Xiong Yixie, and others kicked and punched practitioner Yang Bin. Guard Zhang Xinhua beat Huang Youjun from Yueyang City many times. Within two months, Huang Youjun was sent three times to the "strict management team," where he was handcuffed and suspended in mid-air, shocked with an electric baton, and put through other tortures.

Guard Jiang Haibo directed convicts to beat Liu Qingliang from Yueyang City. He was forced to kneel on the ground and Jiang slapped him in the face.
Mr. Tang Zhaomei, 75, is a retired professor from Xiangtan University. Every day he is confined in a room just a dozen square meters with several convicts. During the day, he is not allowed to leave the room. At night, he has to return to the prison dormitory to sleep after dinner. He is constantly followed by several convicts who closely restrict his daily activities. Recently, he has started to fall down frequently because he is extremely weak as a result of abuse. His head has been injured many times.
