(Clearwisdom.net) Agents from the Helong City Domestic Security Division in the Yanbian Autonomous Region of Jilin Province arrested several local Falun Gong practitioners on May 26, 2011. They then tortured and interrogated them. One of the practitioners who was considered a primary target was brutalized for six days non-stop. Below is his personal account of what happened to him.
Around 12:30 p.m. on May 26, 2011, I was on my way home after group Fa study at Practitioner A’s home, when several plainclothes police officers came out of nowhere and seized me. When they dragged me back to Practitioner A’s home, I saw three other practitioners already being illegally detained there. In order to snatch more practitioners, these agents from Helong City Domestic Security Division stationed themselves outside of Practitioner A’s apartment building the entire afternoon and ambushed another practitioner. When they were certain that no more practitioners were coming, they drove us to Helong City Police Department at 5:00 p.m.
Suspecting that we were the parties involved in making a particular truth-clarification DVD, the officers transferred us to Guangming Police Department, where they separated us and interrogated us with torture. Since I refused to reveal the source of my truth-clarification materials, they abused me for six straight days. Under the direction of deputy police chief Liu Ailian, they punched and kicked me and tortured me in other ways.
Torture Method 1:
The police forced me to sit on the floor with my legs straightened and my back bent. Next, one officer sat on my back, pushing my chest down against my legs. Two other officers then twisted my arms and yanked my head backwards by my hair.

Torture Method 2:
The police pulled my legs into a straddle split position and held my head down to touch the ground. They next twisted my arms behind my back and immobilized me.

Torture Method 3:
The police still had my legs in a straddle split position, but this time they made me straighten my back and stretched my arms as high as possible. In no time, my face became pale and I was soaked in sweat.
Torture Method 4:
The police forced me to kneel on a pile of bottle caps, and then twisted one of my arms over my shoulder and linked it to my other arm behind my back with a set of handcuffs. Liu Ailian then stepped on my back and yanked my head backward by pulling my hair. To make me suffer even more, he ordered a police officer to smear hot pepper powder on my face and insert burning cigarettes into my nostrils. I was immediately choked and almost stopped breathing. Afraid of dire consequences, they put a Suxiaojiuxin pill (a traditional Chinese medicine used to treat angina pectoris) into my mouth and massaged my chest. I spit out the pill. My heartbeat didn’t return to normal until about an hour later.
The police took turns torturing me until they were exhausted. They tried to get me to tell them who did the videotaping of the truth-clarification DVD. I simply said, “I don’t know.” Enraged, they turned to more torture methods.
Torture Method 5:
They made me sit in a chair with my legs resting on the back of another chair, and then pulled my arms backward as far as possible. They dubbed this torture “Flying an Airplane.”
Torture Method 6:
They again had me sit in a chair, but this time with my legs resting on the seat of another chair. They next stepped on my back so my head and chest were pressed against my legs. They smeared hot pepper powder on my face and forced me to smoke a cigarette.
Torture Method 7:
Police officer Gao Zhenhua shackled my feet and hung me upside down against a wall. During the interrogation, he kicked me at will.
Torture Method 8:
Gao Zhenhua also twisted my neck. In addition, he sometimes had me sit in a chair and pushed my head down with all his might.
After six days of torture, I was detained for two more months. By the time I was finally released on medical parole, I was reduced from weighing 133 lbs. to just 67 lbs.
While I was in custody, the police ransacked my home and looted 4,000 yuan in cash and a total of 6,000 yuan in bank deposits belonging to me and a relative. At the time of my arrest, the 1,600 yuan I had in my possession was also confiscated.
