The Divine Land Marching Band in the parade
More than 200 thousand people watched the parade in person, and more saw it on TV. The performances of the Divine Land Marching Band were warmly welcomed by the spectators. After the parade, the organizer invited the band to come again next year.
Yang Sook Park, a local citizen, immigrated to Canada from Korea one month ago. She said: “The band is excellent. I know that Falun Gong practitioners form a similar band in Korea, which is popular there too.” She wanted to know about Falun Gong, and asked to take a photo with the band members.
Brian never saw the band before. When he first saw it, he thought it was a Korean band. His friend corrected him. When asked how he knew it was a Chinese band, he said: “I recognize the Chinese character—Falun Dafa.”
Ms. Li from Guangzhou, China, was excited to see the band. “I came to Canada a month ago. I feel lucky to see the band. I saw their performances before in Hong Kong, but it is impossible in China.” “I know about Falun Gong, and I want to learn more about it,” she said. Ms. Wang from Liaoning, China, said: “It feels good to see Falun Gong here. It gives me the feeling of freedom. The band's performances were encouraging and uplifting. I want to learn more about Falun Gong through the internet.”
