(Clearwisdom.net) In an effort to help save sentient beings, the practitioners in our city worked together for over a year on a lawsuit. After that effort, the evil forces in the area were greatly reduced. As a result, ordinary citizens better understood the truth of Falun Gong, the evil forces inside the government law enforcement agencies were eliminated to a large degree, and the local practitioners worked as one body.
A fellow practitioner was illegally arrested last spring,
and practitioners from out of town hired lawyers to defend her. Two
weeks before the trial, her case reached a deadlock. Therefore, we
readjusted our way of thinking about the case.
Our goals for the lawsuit
Everything that we do is to save sentient beings and for
practitioners to become more mature. Hence the goals we wanted to
reach through filing this lawsuit were:
1) To clarify the truth to a large number of people
The persecution of Falun Gong has lasted for more than ten years,
and during this time, a large number of Chinese have learned that
Falun Gong is good. Many Chinese people, however, still believe the
Falun Gong is illegal in China. That notion prevents people from
supporting Falun Gong even though they know that Falun Gong is
good. Many Chinese citizens’ moral consciences have been oppressed
so badly by this notion that they are not clear on this.
From this event, we learned that to offer salvation to sentient
beings in the current China, we should help people understand two
basic concepts. First of all, no Chinese law says that Falun Gong
is illegal, and secondly, those who have been persecuting Falun
Gong practitioners are unknowingly committing a crime, and will
eventually be punished by law. Our lawsuit intended to give the
public the opportunity to learn the facts of the law and
consequently develop righteous attitudes and eventually be
saved.
2) Offer salvation to the personnel who work for
law enforcement agencies
Many people did not know the truth about Dafa. We believe that most
of the people who participate in the persecution will stop
committing the crimes of persecuting Falun Gong after they learn
that Falun Gong actually is legal. After they know that, if they
continue to persecute practitioners, they might end up in jail, or
even pay with their own lives for those practitioners who have
passed away in their custody. If we help them to see the danger,
they will be awakened, and afterwards they will be saved. Not only
that, the evil forces will be dismantled and it will play a vital
role to help end the persecution.
3) Help more practitioners to join the
project, so that we can form a whole body
We did not form group Fa studies until recently in our city, so
communication between the practitioners in different towns and
districts in our area was not well organized. As a result, some
practitioners had conflicts and did not talk to each other; they
could not collaborate with each other at all. We hoped that we
could use this opportunity to get everyone together to accomplish
the project objectives as a whole body. After organizing our
thoughts, the coordinators in different districts began to
collaborate well and discussed the importance of the lawsuit and
how we should cultivate ourselves in the process. We promised that
we would work together and let go of our sense of self in order to
accomplish our tasks together. Even those practitioners who did not
do anything, as long as they silently supported other
practitioners, they were collaborating effectively with the entire
group.
After readjusting our thoughts, we focused on the fact that there
were only ten days left before the trial. The volunteer
coordinators from all of the towns and districts busily travelled
to different places every day, because they did not want to leave
any practitioners out of such an important event. At a critical
moment, we were told that the trial had been postponed for six
days. We thanked Master for his arrangement. With the extra six
days, we were able to help every single practitioner in all the
towns and districts to get updates on the lawsuit, and, eventually,
over 900f the practitioners all did their best to collaborate
together.
4) Rescue fellow practitioners
We concluded that we could help save a large number of
sentient beings through the lawsuit; in addition, our fellow
practitioners could also get an opportunity to work collaboratively
when our hearts were joined together. Even if the practitioner was
not be released in the end, our efforts would still improve her
situation. On the other hand, if we truly did well, the sentient
beings’ hearts would be rectified, and this would also be
beneficial for those practitioners who were still incarcerated.
For the above reasons, we made banners, post-it notes, fliers, and
pamphlets; left voice mail and text messages; and sent invitations
to people to educate them about the legitimacy of the lawsuit.
Our goal for hiring the lawyers
We were not clear what kind of roles the lawyers could
play in this case. However, after we readjusted our thoughts that
the lawsuit was meant as a vehicle to offer salvation to sentient
beings, everything went well.
The vicious Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong,
but tries its best to cover up its notorious deeds from the general
public. Selfishness has left most Chinese indifferent to the
persecution. In some areas, the evil forces successfully interfered
with some trials for Falun Gong practitioners. We believed that,
whatever the outcome, it would nevertheless give us a great
opportunity to simply let people hear the truth about Dafa.
Furthermore, we would also use this opportunity to let every corner
of the city know that “well-known lawyers from Beijing” would
present in the courtroom representing the practitioner. Media
coverage was positive.
Spread the truth widely
We made a large number of banners to spread the news of
our intention to plead innocent and hung them up everywhere. We
also passed out lots of post-it notes, fliers, and pamphlets. Very
quickly, almost everyone in the city knew about the lawsuit. Of all
the methods that we tried, voice mail messages and invitations were
the most effective.
We split up the several hundred thousand phone numbers, entered
them into a few dozen phones, and called almost all of them in a
short period of time. The effect was very good: the majority of the
people who received the calls listened to our messages and some of
them even listened more than once.
We also found about 500 phone numbers of those who work for law
enforcement agencies in the city and sent them text messages that
explicitly explained to the correct legal facts about Falun Gong
and an invitation to attend the trial.
In an appeals case this year in a nearby city, fellow practitioners
collected about one million phone numbers and asked the
practitioners from nearby towns and cities for help in contacting
those people. For example, the practitioners from one city got more
than 260,000 phone numbers. They entered those numbers in different
phones, and, within a month, they texted all of the numbers with
the legal facts of their case. Lots of people responded to their
text messages. The effect was very good, and lots of people were
saved as a result.
Some government officials and “famous and powerful local
celebrities” hardly have a chance to come across
truth-clarifying materials, since they either stay indoors or
ride in their cars. To help them see the materials, we sent them
invitations that helped explain the truth about the lawsuit.
As a matter of fact, our invitations resembled the truth-clarifying
materials on which we printed the traditional Chinese brush style
on one side: “Why has Falun Gong been spread all over the world,
but only been persecuted in China? Why are Falun Gong practitioners
standing steadfast even though the brutal persecution of Falun Gong
has been going on for more than ten years? Why do more and more
lawyers dare to help Falun Gong practitioners to enter innocent
pleas even if they are adversely pressured by the government?

On the other side of the invitations, we printed the particulars of
our case with the time and location of the trial. Many people who
received our invitations carefully read the information, and some
said they would come to the trial.
When sending out invitations, we needed to pay attention to
security, but at the same time, we wanted to send as many
invitations as possible. Therefore, we did not set any limits on
how many invitations each practitioner should send. We each sent
invitations to those “well-known and important celebrities” in our
local areas, in addition to our friends, families, and
acquaintances. No matter what titles they held—whether they were
officials or security guards in small villages—as long as they
regarded themselves as someone important, we sent them invitations.
We sent out about two thousand invitations all together. In such a
small city, we covered the majority of people who made up the
mainstream of our local community.
Clarifying the truth in such a comprehensive way captured the
attention of the entire city; everywhere we went, we could find a
large number of people talking about our lawsuit.
Master’s arrangement is the best
Right before the trial convened, the court was able to
pressure the practitioner’s family to fire the lawyers we had hired
from Beijing and switch to a local lawyer who would enter a guilty
plea in exchange for a shortened jail term. They also made a deal
to hold a closed trial. The CCP court then had police officers
guarding all the intersections within a one-mile radius and blocked
all traffic from entering the area. Even the public buses did not
stop near the courthouse that day. Furthermore, the local
government made sure that all villages and work units monitored
Dafa practitioners. Undercover officers surrounded the courthouse.
It was a very special day; people talked about the case on the
streets and at work.
It looked as if the evil forces were armed to the teeth, but we
were elated because the evil forces actually helped us to spread
the influence of the case. Originally we were afraid that not many
people would pay attention to the trial and listen to the truth. We
learned that, as long as we were intent on offering salvation to
the sentient beings, the evil forces would be under our control and
obediently follow our commands.
As a matter of fact, we were worried before the trial because one
of the lawyers from Beijing had planned to plead innocent but then
bargain for a guilty verdict with a shortened term. His defense
argument, however, contained anti-Falun Gong information. We
absolutely did not want to allow that lawyer that we had hired to
slander Dafa, and we wanted do our best to prevent people from
hearing those lies. However, the lawyer insisted on submitting that
misinformation. Not knowing what else we could do, we felt
powerless. Then a miracle happened that morning when the
practitioner’s family fired the lawyers from Beijing. We thanked
Master for the perfect arrangement.
We were fully prepared before the trial. We utilized the
opportunity to once again reveal the evil forces’ true nature and
clarified the truth to everybody present.
The lawsuit gave us the opportunity to form one body, and the evil
forces were reduced. Several police officers stated that they no
longer wanted to participate in the persecution, and some of them
secretly stopped arresting Falun Gong practitioners. Some people
from inside the law enforcement agencies told us that nobody wanted
to arrest practitioners if the incidents were being publicly
reported on.
