Younger Sister Sent to Forced Labor Camp, Older Sister Wanted by Police

Oct. 18, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Jiangsu Province

(Minghui.org) Li Qun and Li Jun are sisters from Nanjing City. Older sister Ms. Li Qun has had to live away from home since March 2011 to avoid the persecution. The police are searching for her. Younger sister Ms. Li Jun was a teacher. Her school officials suspended her classes and monitored her because she spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was arrested in May 2012, and held in the Nanjing City Detention Center and Brainwashing Center, respectively. She was eventually given a 15-month forced labor term, and was sent to the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp.

It is learned that Ms. Li Jun's father who is in his late 70s went to related governmental departments to demand his younger daughter's release, but to no avail. He was so exhausted and worried that he fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Ms. Li Jun's mother who is in her 70s is not in good health. She struggles to support the family, and take care of her husband and grandchild, while nearly overcome with worry about her two daughters' safety.

The elderly couple are both retired university professors. They have devoted most of their lives to their careers, and now should be able to enjoy their later years surrounded by their children and grandchildren, but due to the persecution, they are alone and lonely. With one daughter's whereabouts unknown and the other daughter illegally imprisoned, the elderly couple lives in fear and sorrow.

Ms. Li Jun was born in May 1971, and taught English at Sisongan Elementary School in Jianye District, Nanjing. She began practicing Falun Gong in 2009. All her illnesses disappeared in only one month after she read Zhuan Falun and did the Falun Gong exercises. Her originally scheduled surgery was cancelled, and her son's refractory skin diseases disappeared without medical treatment. Ms. Li Jun thereafter took the path of cultivation in Dafa.

Ms. Li Jun actively joined in truth clarification efforts shortly after she began practicing Falun Gong. Because she had so greatly benefitted herself, she wanted to help more people learn the facts and dispel the lies that the communist regime imposed upon people. She was unfortunately arrested on the evening of July 16, 2009 as she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers from the Huaqiao Road Police Station in Gulou District arrested her and ransacked her home.

Shortly after Ms. Li Jun was released, her older sister Ms. Li Qun was arrested on August 11, 2009 at the gate to the residential area where she lived. Their elderly parents were implicated and their home was ransacked. The elderly couple was terrified. The information about Ms. Li Qun's arrest was exposed on the Minghui website three days later, on August 14. The police attempted to find who exposed the information, and once again targeted the younger sister, Ms. Li Jun.

The police abducted Ms. Li Jun's 10-year-old son despite his resistence and detained him for more than an hour, in an attempt to put pressure on Ms. Li Jun. The child was greatly traumatized both physically and mentally, and it took him six months to gradually recover psychologically. The perpetartors harassed and threatened Ms. Li Jun at home and in her workplace several more times, and even threatened to kidnap her son again, and deprive her son of schooling. The multifaceted pressure almost suffocated Ms. Li Jun who just began practicing cultivation.

Despite all kinds of pressure and harrassment, Ms. Li Jun overcame her timidness and poor communication, and made use of her time in class and spare time to speak with her students and colleagues about Falun Gong's benefits and the persecution in order to offer them salvation.

Her employer suspended her classes in 2011. Despite the fact that she might lose her job, and with a Dafa cultivator's kindness, Ms. Li Jun continued clarifying the facts to the school authorities and her colleagues who tried to persuade her to give up her belief. She also wrote to officials of different levels to clarify the truth. She wrote appeal letters requesting to resume her right to teach and cease discriminatory treatment. Her persistent efforts helped people with predestined relationships learn the truth and regain people's respect for her in her workplace.

However, Nanjing police imposed a forced labor term upon Ms. Li Jun for efforts to inform people of the facts.

Nanjing Domestic Security Division head Xiao Ningjian even promised that they would not arrest Ms. Li Jun's older sister as long as she comes back, and they would immediately release the younger sister if the older sister returns. Are they taking the younger sister hostage in exchange for her older sister?
