The culture park is located besides the Chiayi Evening Market. It is the largest and busiest park, and also a popular destination for Chinese tourists to Taiwan. There are always many people in the park during holidays or evenings.

Falun Gong practitioner Wang Ren-na, an accountant in a water company, brought her daughter to participate in the event. Her daughter took part in the children's waist drum performance on stage. She has attended Minghui class every Sunday since kindergarten. Ms. Wang said that her daughter has become much more focused after learning Falun Gong.

Many people strolling through the park in the moonlight paused to watch the young practitioners' performance. The children recited Lunyu from Zhuan Falun and poems from Hong Yin.

Falun Gong practitioner Lai Huang-chen, a teacher at the Minghui School, explained that the young practitioners study Zhuan Falun and Hong Yin as well as traditional Chinese culture. They also learn and practice the Falun Gong exercises. Ms. Lai said, “For the past few years, the young practitioners have experienced the grace of Falun Dafa and felt that more people should learn about such a great practice. Thus, we brought them to the park to introduce Falun Gong to people.”

Ms. Lai told the audience that Falun Gong is also known as Falun Dafa and abides by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She said that all Falun Dafa activities are free and practicing is voluntary. Practitioners, who come from all walks of life, are simply members of society. The practice brings great benefits to any society. Ms. Lai said, “But since July 20, 1999, the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong. Hundreds of thousands of innocent practitioners have been imprisoned in jails, labor camps and mental hospitals. More than three thousand practitioners have died as a direct result of the persecution. The CCP even harvests the organs of living practitioners for profit. These crimes have been reported by many media. The persecution is still going on. Therefore, Falun Gong practitioners strive to tell more people and governments across the world about the persecution and the brutality.”

A film debunking the CCP-staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident was shown in the park. The film illustrated in detail how the CCP fabricated the incident to mislead the public and justify the persecution of Falun Gong. After viewing the film, a number of people expressed indignation over the CCP's actions. Cases of CCP torture of Falun Gong practitioners were also shown after the film to further expose the persecution.

One person said emotionally, “In the free society in Taiwan, it is hard to imagine such an inhuman persecution.”

The young practitioners sang songs composed by Falun Dafa practitioners and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. The announcer invited viewers to learn the exercises by following along with the children. Many people imitated their hand gestures.

Ms. Lai said that in the future, on every second Saturday of each month, the young practitioners would come to the park to introduce Falun Gong.
