To Cleanse One's Own Mind Is Also to Cultivate Inward

Oct. 3, 2012 |   By a practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I had previously thought that the five minutes before sending forth righteous thoughts was only to quiet oneself so that the person can be more effective in sending righteous thoughts and eliminating the old forces.

Two weeks ago, I suddenly came to realize that if a practitioner uses the five minutes before sending forth righteous thoughts to cleanse one's own mind, it amounts to cultivating inward. I conjoined my hands, and then said Master's words in my heart:

“...thinking about eliminating the bad thoughts, karma, bad notions, and external interference in their minds. As you’re like this, think that they die, and then they will be eliminated.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Fa Conference”)

I came to understand that all these bad thoughts, karma, bad notions, and external interference were the human attachments and notions that I had formed in my life. When we clean them out, aren't we cleaning out all those bad elements regardless of whether or not we have realized them yet? Isn't that cultivating inward?

After I understood this, I adjusted my daily schedule, and after sending righteous thoughts with Dafa practitioners around the world at 6 a.m., I put my hands in the conjoined position to clean my mind for 50 minutes. I then continue with the 7 a.m. sending forth righteous thoughts session.

After cleaning my mind for 50 minutes daily for 2 weeks, I feel that the different kinds of thoughts in my mind have been significantly reduced. My thoughts are much cleaner. Sometimes, I feel that my body is very light - a wonderful, miraculous feeling.
