Establishing the Righteous Standpoint

Oct. 3, 2012 |   By a practitioner from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) I was illegally detained in a forced labor camp in the second half of 2002, and I suffered forced brainwashing.

I recall that a member of the so-called “transformation” team, hereinafter referred to as X, talked about how they transformed a Falun Gong practitioner. The practitioner was steadfast at the beginning and endured a lot of pressure and hardships. X said to him, “How much suffering have you brought to your loved ones because you practice Falun Gong? Aren't Falun Gong practitioners supposed to be good people? Have you ever considered your family members' happiness?” The practitioner's determination started to waver. X continued, “Don't you want them to be happy? Why don't you put their happiness as your own happiness? That is truly a good person.” After listening to X, the practitioner said something that even X thought was funny, “You are even purer than us!”

Obviously, the practitioner was misled by X and “transformed.” Later I reflected on the reason that many Dafa disciples had been “transformed” through the regime's brainwashing in jails and labor camps. Oftentimes they were confused by similar fallacies and then began to waver. This reflects a very important issue—one's standpoint. As a Dafa disciple, at the crucial moment of life and death, whether one views things from Dafa's standpoint or a human standpoint is fundamental. From a human standpoint, one would think it a noble act to abandon cultivation and “transform” for the sake of others' (e.g. relatives) happiness. This way of thinking results from the evil Communist Party's long-term brainwashing—to undermine the importance of justice, life, and oneself and willingly sacrifice everything for the Party. If viewing things from Dafa's standpoint and the righteous standpoint, what is more right than upholding truth and justice? Cultivators wouldn't be moved by worldly joy or sorrow, and, more impossibly, they wouldn't give up cultivation and betray Master.

In the “20th Anniversary Fa Teaching,” Master spoke again about the importance and urgency of helping former practitioners return to the Fa. I think for practitioners who have walked a crooked path or have not stepped forward, the problem lies in their standpoint of cultivation. If one cannot clearly distinguish between humanity and divinity, he or she is liable to make mistakes in the face of pressure. Of course different people have different attachments, and this requires us to do more in-depth and detailed work.

I wrote this to expose the evil, and I hope this will be helpful in bringing back former fellow practitioners.

Please kindly point out anything that is not on the Fa.
