(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Song Xuecheng started practicing Falun Dafa in August, 2005. Subsequently, the multiple diseases he was suffering from were cured, including lumber disc stenosis, which he'd endured for over twenty years. His family and friends witnessed the magnificence of Dafa from this experience. However, he was arrested in June, 2010 due to his belief in, and practice of Falun Dafa, and was sentenced to three years in prison, which was then changed to a five-year probationary period. He has been monitored continuously, and harassed over the past year. The following represents the details of his situation.

Mr. Song lived in the Anshun area of Lindong, Balin Zuoqi District, Chifeng, and was a supervisor at the Fuhe Central School. In May 2010, he and his family moved to the Haibowan area in Wuhai where his younger brother and father lived. His father was nearly eighty years old. Mr. Song and his family lived temporarily in a rented apartment in Dishui District.

On the afternoon of June 27, 2010, over ten officials including the assistant director of Haibowan District Police Bureau, the instructor of the Domestic Security Division and assistant instructor Li Guozhang broke into Mr. Song’s apartment. They ransacked his room, and a police officer ordered Mr. Song, his wife and their granddaughter to sit and not move. The assistant director forced Mr. Song to sign the search warrant. That afternoon, they thoroughly searched the room, breaking all the cabinet locks (they sent additional specialists to open the cabinet safe that night). They confiscated all the Dafa books, DVDs of Teacher’s lectures, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and other Dafa-related materials. In addition, they took everything that they considered valuable, including a laptop computer, printer, cell phone, hard drive and bank account card. They even took Mr. Song’s car to the Public Security Bureau.

These Chinese Communist Party (CCP) perpetrators called Mr. Song’s brother and son at work, and ordered them to return home. They then arrested Mr. Song, his wife (also a practitioner) and their son (a non-practitioner), and took them to the Haibowan District Public Security Bureau, leaving behind their seven-year-old granddaughter, who was later taken home by Mr. Song’s brother.

That night, the assistant director and assistant instructor of the Public Security Bureau (Li Guozhang), and director Shu took turns interrogating Mr. Song until 11 p.m. Afterwards, they held him at the Wuhai Detention Center. His wife was released that night, but his son was detained for one month.

The detention center held inmates who were involved in crimes including robbery, drug dealing and rape. The inmates' leader was allowed to do whatever he pleased. Mr. Song was forced to sleep on the floor. The quilt sent by his family was taken by inmate leader Li Yuqiang. Li also stole 1,700 yuan ($270 USD) from Mr. Song’s pockets, and spent it with several other inmates (the inmates' leader is in charge of the money from all other inmates. They buy items from the prison shop and food court). The inmate leader is similar to a gang leader. They used Mr. Song's money to buy the most expensive items and eat the best food.

During his detainment, Mr. Song was forced to work over ten hours daily. He was given only two meals a day. His food consisted of boiled cabbage in water with insects floating on the top. Director Su and assistant director Li Guozhang interrogated him constantly. Four officials, including the Wuhai Public Security Bureau director, police department director and officers from Wuda District Public Security Bureau interrogated him for five to six hours continuously. They failed to obtain useful information, so Liu Yanfu from the Wuhai 610 Office along with Liang Zheng from the Haibowan Procuratorate threatened Mr. Song, demanding that he write the so-called guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. Meanwhile, they attempted to force his wife to write the guarantee statements. After she refused, they forced Mr. Song’s son to write them, and then presented the documents as evidence of their success to the CCP staff.

On October 18, 2010, staff from the Wuhai 610 Office, the Haibowan District Political Committee, Public Security Bureau, Haibowan Procuratorate, and the court conducted a trial for Mr Song, and imposed a three-year prison sentence. Mr. Song’s family didn't want him to suffer long-term torture in prison, so they bribed the government staff. Consequently, his term was changed to a five-year probation. The officials required Mr. Song to report to the Haibei Judicial Office after he returned from the detention center. Zhou Jiantao, the Judicial Office director, forced Mr. Song to report to police officer Su every week. In addition, he required Mr. Song to use a cell phone enabled with a GPS tracking system, which provided his location for monitoring. Additionally, Mr. Song was required to pay a 500 yuan deposit, and a 100 yuan fee for the cell phone, although the deposit was returned.

Mr. Song requested to return to his hometown in March, 2011, because he couldn't bear the long-term monitoring any longer. The Judicial Office asked the local department take over his case. Mr. Song contacted the Judicial Office in Balin Zuoqi Biliutai town to initiate the arrangements. In early April, Mr. Song finally returned his hometown of Lindong. Soon after, the local 610 Office staff incited Lindong Police Station and other department officials to harass him with continuous phone calls. Mr. Song was forced to leave home again.

On October 7, 2011, the Chifeng 610 Office and local 610 Office staff Gao Yanguo requested the Biliutai Judicial Office, the education department and Mr. Song’s work unit to investigate him, causing disturbance and emotional hardship to him and his family.

During the four months that Mr. Song was tortured in Wuhai, staff from the Wuhai 610 Office, Haibowan Politics and Law Committee, Public Security Bureau, Detention Center, Judicial Office and the police station extorted over 50,000 yuan ($7,935 USD) from Mr. Song’s family. They also confiscated a laptop computer and equipment valued at 4,000 yuan ($635 USD).
