(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in nine cities or counties and seven provinces. In this report, eleven practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least three practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. He Weidong's Retina Detaches as a Result of Abuse

Ms. He Weidong, about 60, is currently incarcerated in the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-and-a-half-year term. Her retina became detached as a result of the persecution. This is the second time that she is being held in a forced labor camp.

2. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] More Information on the Arrests of Ms. Wang Yajuan and Ms. Wang Shuqin

Daban Town practitioners Ms. Wang Yajuan and Ms. Wang Shuqin were reported while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Guohua Town on the evening of January 17, 2012. They were arrested by officers from the Guohua Town Police Station and the Daban Town Police Station. Later, officers from the Fuxin County Domestic Security Division in Fuxin City went to Ms. Wang Yajuan's home and ransacked it. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Gong books. Both practitioners are being held at the Xindi Detention Center.

3. [Heilongjiang Province] Guards Torture Practitioners in Suihua Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Miao Shujun suffered from a concussion after being beaten by chief guard Lian Xing. Lian Xing also severely beat Mr. Han Mingquan and Mr. Li Shaotie.

Guard Shi Jian did not allow practitioners to use the restroom for long periods of time. He forced practitioners to sit on small stools or stand for long periods of time, and he deprived them of sleep. Shi Jian also beat Mr. Bai Shulin.

Camp instructor Gao Zhonghai locked Mr. Bai Shulin and Mr. Zhao Dezhi in a small cell and had them sit in an iron chair for more than two weeks after they refused to sing songs praising the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Guard Li Chengchun ordered the inmates to tie Mr. Bai Shulin to the iron chair and put a headset over his ears to force him to listen to their propaganda. The guards also burned Mr. Zhao Dezhi's nails with cigarettes.

Guards Tian Zhizheng and Li Chengchun tied Mr. Han Mingquan's arms around his back and hung him up.

4. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Deng Zhiwei Detained

On December 6, 2011, when Ms. Deng Zhiwei left home to bring lunch to her hospitalized husband, she was arrested by eight officers from the Fengchan Road 610 Office, who were waiting downstairs in her residential building. The officers seized her keys and confiscated personal belongings. Ms. Deng's mother has been bedridden for several years, but she was then left without her daughter's care.

Ms. Deng was first taken to the Wanqing Village Brainwashing Center, and then to the Zhengzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Huilian Detained Beyond Term in Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zhang Huilian, who lives in Dongguan Village, Gucheng Town, Gucheng County, was arrested by officers from the Gucheng Town Police Station for speaking with people about Falun Gong in mid-May 2010. She was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor and incarcerated in the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp. She has been detained beyond her term for more than three months.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shufeng's Home Ransacked

On January 19, 2012, Gao Xiu, head of the Yantai City 610 Office, led several plainclothes officers and opened the door to Ms. Zhang Shufeng's home with a master key. The officers ransacked the home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They continued to monitor Ms. Gao's home after they finished their ransacking, and they also arrested another practitioner who was leaving her own home. That practitioner was released that night.

8. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Mr. Cui Shuyong Followed and Arrested on January 22, 2012

9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoling Tortured in Chatou Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zhang Xiaoling, who has been incarcerated in the Chatou Forced Labor Camp, was locked in a small cell and forced to sit on a tiny stool from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

10. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhao Haitao Detained

Mr. Zhao Haitao was reported while clarifying the truth in Quhui Town, Yuanba District on January 6, 2012. He was arrested and his home was ransacked. Mr. Zhao was severely beaten and is still being held at the Yuanba District Detention Center.
