(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Youting has been illegally arrested many times for practicing Falun Gong. He has been held in detention centers, a forced labor camp, and three different prisons. While in prison, guards tortured him by taking off his clothes and pouring cold water on him in the winter. Evil people also put human feces in his mouth. He suffered greatly.

Mr. Wang started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, which gave him insights into the true meaning of life and its purpose. Since then, he has followed the Falun Gong principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. He has experienced the wonders of living illness-free; his xinxing continuously improved; he looked into himself when there was problem or conflict; and he thought of others and didn’t fight for personal gains. He was well regarded at work.

The Chinese Communist Party has slandered and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999.

Persecuted for Appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing

Mr. Wang and many other practitioners went to Beijing after July 20, 1999, to tell the truth about Falun Gong. They were arrested in Beijing's Qutou Township and taken to Qiaozhuang Detention Center. Police instigated other inmates to verbally abuse and beat them. They even put human feces into practitioners’ mouths. Mr. Wang’s mouth bled from being beaten, and chest pains made it difficult for him to breathe.

Ten days later, Mr. Wang was taken back to Xinbin Nanzamu Police Sub-Bureau. Li Guangren, the police chief at the time, took Mr. Wang to an office on the second floor to interrogate him. Li asked, “Are you still going to practice Falun Gong?” Mr. Wang replied, “Yes.” Li knocked Mr. Wang to the floor and kicked him with his boots. Mr. Wang thought that one of his ribs was broken, because it was so painful that he could hardly breathe. Li Guangren went crazy hitting Mr. Wang. When he got tired, he used an electric baton to shock Wang’s face, neck, and mouth. Then he asked him again, “Are you still going to practice?” Mr. Wang replied firmly, “Yes!” Li Guangren gave up and said, “Okay, okay.”

That afternoon, Nanzamu Police Sub-Bureau agents took Mr. Wang Youting to the Xinbin County Detention Center and confiscated the 100 yuan he had with him. Fifteen days later, they took him to Fushun Forced Labor Camp without going through any legal procedures. He was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor.

Persecuted in Fushun Forced Labor Camp

Eight practitioners including Mr. Wang Youting were locked up in Fushung Forced Labor Camp. The people responsible for “reforming” practitioners were Jiang Yongfeng and Wu Wei. Practitioners encouraged each other not to give up Falun Gong practice and not to write the guarantee statement. Whenever they had an opportunity, they clarified the truth about Falun Gong to their captors.

While at the camp, the only food they had was cornbread. There were hardly any vegetables, except a little soup made of cabbage, carrot, or winter melon. Practitioners were forced to work excessively, such as washing coal at the coal mine. After two days working with coal, Mr. Wang’s legs became severely swollen. Later he needed to hold on to someone else to walk. He was released one year later.

Inhuman Treatment in a Detention Center and in Prison

On March 9, 2004, in the evening, Mr. Wang rode his motorcycle to Qiandian Village, Fushun County, to distribute Falun Gong materials. Zhangdang Police Station agents arrested him. They confiscated his motorcycle and the 90 yuan he had with him. They handcuffed him to a heating pipe at the station. Mr. Wang’s hands started to swell up right away from the tightness of the handcuffs.

Torture Reenactment: Dousing with cold water

The next day evening Mr. Wang was taken to the Fushun City No. 1 Detention Center. During his time there, other inmates beat and verbally abused him frequently. They doused him with ice water. He worked 16 hours every day and was physically punished when he failed to complete the quota. Each meal consisted of only one corn meal bun. He was always hungry.

There was a time limit on use of the toilet. When there were too many people waiting for the restroom, he sometimes had to soil his pants. During the four months of illegal detention he wasn’t allowed to brush his teeth even once. One time he didn’t get to wash his face for a month. There was no water when he was thirsty. Due to the heavy workload, Mr. Wang often had pain in his back and legs and was frequently unable to stand up straight. Because there were many people detained in the center and it was humid and conditions were cramped, some inmates developed scabies, which are contagious. Falun Gong practitioners were often put next to those inmates to sleep, but no practitioner contracted scabies.

Four months later, Fushun Court illegally sentenced Wang Youting to four and a half years in prison. He was sent to Dabeixin Prison in Shenyang, where he was forced to work over ten hours every day. He was transferred to Nanhuayuan Prison in Fushun a month later.

Warden Lan Wenxuan at the prison directed his underlings to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Guards had other inmates monitor practitioners. Practitioners were not allowed visits from family. For a period of time, Mr. Wang was very weak with two swollen legs. Later, there was an egg-size tumor on his right leg that leaked bloody pus. Wang felt cold one moment and hot the next. Red lines of infection as wide as a finger appeared on his right leg.

Lan Wenxuan once defamed and slandered Falun Dafa. Mr. Wang stood up in front of everyone and told the truth about Falun Dafa, and Lan lost the moral high ground to badmouth it in the presence of everyone. He ordered two guards to put Mr. Wang in solitary confinement. Solitary confinement was a dark, windowless chamber about one meter by two meters. It was always humid, cold, and wet inside. It was late fall, and Mr. Wang was only wearing light clothes. He wanted to put on heavier clothes, but he was not allowed to. Guard Bai was assigned to monitor him. He got only two skimpy meals daily—a small piece of bread and very little soup, which was not enough to fill his stomach. After being locked up in the dark room for 12 days, Mr. Wang experience dizziness, blurry eyesight, and difficulty walking. One time he lost consciousness, but his captors claimed he was pretending. Mr. Wang was sent back to prison area No. 7 two weeks later.

Persecuted in Benxi Prison

Nine Falun Gong practitioners were incarcerated in Nanhuayuan Prison in Fushun. In order to keep them separated, officials kept them in different areas. Mr. Wang was in area No. 7. He refused to wear a prison uniform, to recite the prison regulations, or to do prison labor, because he did not consider himself a prisoner. The warden realized that they could not “reform” him and transferred him to Benxi Prison, where the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was worse.

While in Benxi, guards forced Mr. Wang Youting to watch videotapes that slandered Falun Dafa and its founder daily. If he refused, he was berated or beaten. They forced him to sit on a small stool that was two feet long and two inches wide. If he couldn’t sit still, he was beaten. In the winter, they took off all his clothes and opened the door and windows to let cold air in. At the same time they doused him with cold water. Mr. Wang lost consciousness from the cold. Guards took him inside and attempted to force him to sign a repentance statement once he came to. When he refused, he was taken outside once more and doused with cold water again. He was forbidden to sleep for seven days. Six or seven inmates took turns monitoring him. Whenever he nodded off, they hit him or used needles to poke him. (Another Falun Gong practitioner’s head was covered with punctures, and his head swelled very big.) Some inmates amused themselves by burning practitioners’ beards. (When another practitioner was severely injured from a beating, officials refused to let him get medical treatment, and his injury got severely infected and later had maggots.)

Mr. Wang Youting was grossly abused and mistreated at Benxi for ten months. He was released on September 10, 2008. On the day of his release, the prison officials still tried to make it hard by demanding that only the local police and other communist Party members could come get him. The managers at Mr. Wang’s workplace and his family were eventually able to bring him home.
