Time Is Tight, Requiring More Diligent Cultivation

April 15, 2012

(Minghui.org) Some practitioners have suggested, “Many practitioners can’t let go of their human attachments and therefore have dragged out the Fa-rectification process, so Teacher will postpone the final moment again.” I don't quite agree with this statement.

I believe that nobody can see what Teacher is going to do next, including what Teacher will do in the future. The divine beings could see only the things that had been arranged by divine beings in the old cosmos. Concerning this, Teacher once answered a disciple’s question as follows.

“Disciple: Some Dafa disciples in China won’t step forward after having been persecuted, but, having disciples who lag behind will drag out the Fa-rectification process. Could we ask Master to enlighten us on this?

“Master: They won’t delay it, for time waits for no one, after all. It’s just that Master is continuing to provide opportunities, and we can wait for you during the process in between. However, the true, great, final moment cannot be delayed.” ("Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference")

Time left for true cultivation during the Fa-rectification period decreases as each day goes by. Time is very tight, requiring practitioners to be more diligent, do true cultivation, and let go of human attachments without delay. Only in this way can we save sentient beings more effectively. We shouldn’t slack off, otherwise, we will lag behind. What should we do then?

Some practitioners slack off mostly because of visible or invisible interference from other dimensions. It manifests in different ways, such as being lazy or weak, being unable to hear the alarm when it is time to send righteous thoughts, and so on. This affects their studying the Fa, practicing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the truth. I had been struggling in such a state for a period of time and finally overcame it. I hope that practitioners who linger in the same state can make a breakthrough.

We’ve found two effective ways to overcome practitioners inability to cultivate diligently. One is to join a Fa study group and focus on cultivation. The other way is to “Let each and every thing be measured against the Fa. Only then, with that, is it actually cultivation.” ("Solid Cultivation" in Hong Yin)

Once a practitioner notices any problem faced by a fellow practitioner, please point it out with a kind smile to help him/her realize it and thus be in a position to overcome it. Overcoming difficulties means improving in cultivation. We all sense that it’s quite easy to make the breakthrough once one awakens from the slumber.

Some practitioners find it difficult to break through the impediment. This is because they cannot find their true selves. They regard the thoughts that are not their own as their own and behavior that is not their own as their own.

For example, one practitioner arrived at work late every day. Given the fact that she did good work, her boss forgave her again and again and allowed her to be tardy. However, she was still late even when her boss allowed her to arrive at 2:00 p.m. She continued like this for more than ten years, until one practitioner—myself—awakened her to the fact that this was based on laziness, which was of demon nature and had to be overcome. I told her, “You are not even as good an ordinary person when you arrive late to work. Moreover, it affects the honor of Dafa, so it has to be overcome.” She said, “I know it’s not right being late to work, but it will take time to change this habit. I cannot do it all at once.” I said, “It’s not your true self but the karma that said that. You should eliminate it. Your true self wouldn’t be like that.” She hesitated for a while and suddenly awakened. After being late three more times, she was not late again. Moreover, she said that it was actually quite easy to make the change.

I think that the key to making improvement includes recognizing thoughts that are not consistent with the Fa. Such behavior that is not consistent for a practitioner does not come from our true self. Those thoughts that prevent us from achieving tranquility when studying the Fa, practicing the exercises, and sending forth righteous thoughts are not our true self. Once we are aware of them, we should eliminate it immediately. We have to make sure that we are not interfered with. We can even disintegrate the interference before it takes effect. Thus, we can break through the interference and feel light physically and spiritually. In the end, we will not slack off and will remain diligent cultivators.
